Issue: OVRProjectSetupRenderingTasks Script Incompatibility with Unity Beta Versions

johnthan.118312
Honored Guest

I’m not entirely sure where to post this, but I’ve encountered a critical issue with the OVRProjectSetupRenderingTasks script when using Unity Beta versions. The script contains the following line:

This line assumes that the Unity version string will always contain an 'f' (e.g., 2023.1.0f1), which is the case for stable releases. However, Unity Beta versions use a 'b' instead (e.g., 2023.1.0b1). As a result, the script fails to parse the version string correctly, causing the editor to break when using a beta version.

This is a significant problem for developers who rely on beta versions for testing new features or fixes. Has anyone else encountered this issue? Are there any known workarounds or fixes?
