Unity 5 / Real integration / Optimizations ETA?

Hi,

When do we get the optimizations and real integration in Unity 5? I'm not 100% sure on this; but I seem to remember this being promised for March when Unity 5 was officially unveiled last month.

Any update?

The Unity launch event happened on March 3rd. Jump to the 2:00:35 mark... Palmer Luckey can be heard stating that the open public beta would be available "later this month"; what was he referring to? If you watch the entire Oculus portion it sure sounds like he's talking about the native implementation inside Unity 5...

Unity was crashing on me seconds after pressing play mode when putting OVRPlayerController in my scene. It took me a couple days of tinkering, but I was able to get rift to pickup in u5 with a rather backwards approach.

I'm curious as to how you know the native Oculus implementation is in that build, but thanks for the info.

According to that post it should be available this week sometime. That's great news.

From the most recent Unity email when talking about Unity Analytics:

"If you are participating in the Unity 5.1 beta program, this is the option that you will select. Unity 5.1 is not publicly available, but will launch later this summer."

Well...I'm at a loss.

Aw, rats! Can those of you that own a Pro License report back regarding the implementation of the integration? I'm really curious as to see how much more optimization was put into Unity 5 in relation to VR.
