Aerofly fs 2

Hi, I wondered if anyone could help me out, maybe had the same problem?
I purchased Aerofly fs 2 from the steam store yesterday, but I cannot get it to play in my oculus headset. When I select play in oculus vr mode it plays on my PC desktop, but not in headset. It doesn't show any VR mode on the menu screen either.
If I select play in steamvr mode, it will have a VR setting on the menu screen, but still nothing in the headset.
I only get a pop up box in the oculus headset saying  The game is loading, but it's stuck on loading screen?
Any help would be appreciated as I'm getting fed up trying it 😞

cheers,

Hi, I play Aerofly FS2 often, bought from Steam, great experience. I just choose "Play through the Oculus VR" when I run it on Steam and voila.

Did you check in Oculus parameter the "Allow unknown Apps"?

Ok... I just tried launching it to see if they didn't make an update killing our VR experience but no, all fine for me.

So on your monitor you can see the first screen with game menus button, and according your first post you don't have the green message at the top explaining you are in VR mode and can it SPACE to recenter your view... That's weird, your Oculus is not detected by the game...

What kind of PC you have (desktop/laptop) and do you confirm other VR games/apps work fine in your headset? And also other Steam titles (or at least outside Oculus Home applications)?

If you have a desktop, and a main monitor, does both your main monitor and the headset are plugged on the same graphic card ? AFAIK this is mandatory.

Edit : Wooo, I missed the popup window inside the headset, so you have hope! Did you wait long enough? it could be pretty long first to launch... Keep a finger on the detector inside the Rift to make it think you wear the headset. Lenses should turn blue after a while (first screen with menus)...

I have a gaming laptop..Alienware..yes other games have worked ok.
no I don't get the green VR mode message..but I do if I run the 'launch steamvr' option. But then I don't see anything in headset.

i will try again and wait a bit longer to see if it loads then..will let you know. Thanks, fingers crossed.

It's not working..I waited 10 minutes it still says loading. It doesn't have the green VR ready message on my laptop screen when I launch the oculus VR option, that's not right is it.
Pit does show it if I launch the steamvr option, but I don't get anything in headset.,nit even a loading screen.

Try launching the game in regular 2D first, just to make sure it all works OK.

When starting in VR, make sure that you have got Oculus Home up first before starting the game.

If still no joy you could also try temporarily disabling any AV software too just incase it's blocking the game .exe.

Another thing to try, is to remove any USB devices that might be causing issues, especially game controllers (even if it's a joystick you intend to use with it), and then start it up.

Hi,
yeah the game works ok in 2D . I do have oculus home running before I start game.
I am not running an anti virus program.
i unplugged usb  devices too, but still the same.
Might have to get refund soon.

Cherrs.

That's sad, you miss a wonderful experience... Did you try reaching the Aerofly support team or check on forum if other ones had this weird problem?

Yeah I know. Gutted. Yeah I got in touch with Aerofly support, they suggested updating drivers looking at my log files, but they are apparently up to date.
there are a few other people who had similar problem lately..just weird why ?
Thanks a lot.
