EDIT: 10/09/2014
Now original full game works on DK2 ! Trick discovered on Reddit.
Instructions:
1) in ENGINE_SETTINGS.XML (found in the DATA folder) change the stereo options to:

<Setting name="Stereo Mode">
<Quality name="Rift" precedence="4"/>
</Setting>

2) Set the Oculus to extended mode.

3) In the oculus configuration utility pause the service.

4) Start the game.

Alien: Isolation

This was our Creative Lead, Al Hope, trying out a prototype experience of Alien: Isolation on Oculus Rift a few days ago. Tomorrow, at E3, this will be available on the Oculus Rift stand. For those brave enough to give it a go, of course... #RoadToE3

Excellent news!!! I played this last night at a friend's house and while I liked it I'm afraid the rift has spoiled me, it was so flat/2D going back to normal gaming, I appreciated the design, graphics and atmosphere but I simply could not 'get in' immersion wise anymore (I have been in VR a lot working on software!) :lol:

and now? I read they've managed to get it working??? holy **** - NOW it's game time!

Let me get this straight... they have a complete game for the Alien franchise, that's only a 3 line code change from being DK2 compatible, and they let the underground figure that out, instead of marketing the shit out of that advantage? Alrighty then...

I cant help but feel this is because

1) it is too bugged to be release quality

2) rather than release now wiht VR support, they can double dip by bringing out a GOTY edition to conincide with the launch of the Consumer Rift.

As far as most of the world is concerned the oculus rift is not out yet.

- Make the game work with the oculus as a proof of concept.
- Disable the support and say it wasn't intended to be on the game
- Let the support be activated easily by modders.
- Have "unofficial" support for Oculus Rift and get the sales related to it, without the need to update/fix issues related to this support.

That's the reason.

Love your cynical outlook...because I kind of agree :cry: It seems that a growing number of games/apps/software are being released with a 'let the public sort it out' attitude. But, hey, I'm drifting off topic 😉

Just patched this and gave it a go. Looks great in the rift on max settings. Head tracking works too. Just disabled ovr in Game manager and set adapter to 0. If this works so well with no judder we are in for a treat with dedicated games.
