The combat in Asgard's Wrath is just so good. I'm taking a breather because I got my ass handed to me. I fought off two waves of some really tough dudes and then some giant creature and his buddy appeared. As soon as I saw them, I  knew I was done for.

If you find a flaming sword, keep it. The burn effect on the enemies looks fantastic. Everythig is AAA animated and polished.

How far is everyone else? I killed Tyr and now I'm the old man. I'm overwhelmed by the awesome things I've experienced in this game. I don't want to spoil it for others.

But beware, this game is fucking hard.

The game looks cool! Now before I buy it, it states on the store that sitting mode is supported. Is this true? I don't want to spend many hours standing up! And if so, any problems with the controls? Like do you have to swing your weapon wildly and potentially hitting my desk, I don't have a lot of room here! For example Lone Echo was a perfect 10.0 game for me, sitting mode is supported, controls are perfect, great story, etc.

Yes, it's true. I'm playing totally seated. They did a wonderful job.

Im in 4th saga. Next after old man. I like how every saga so far have cool unique weapon. Got more animal followers and now you even have to change between them to progress. Puzzles are getting better as i go.

I'm well into 4th saga too, and even though I'm slowly adding to my list of annoyances with some of the mechanics in the game, there's just one thing that's undeniable with this game..  it's such a visual feast! The art style on some of the monsters isn't always great imo, but the world's scenery is just awesome to behold. Kudos to the artists Heart

What hmd are you using?

I"m using Rift-S.

@@RuneSR2 switching to the Index is too much of a hassle. Last time I switched back to the Rift-S it refused to start up. I thought it was dead. I have 3 monitors and 2 hmds. Not enough ports.

When I say it looks good to me, keep in mind I'm not as observant about such issues. But it's not blurry like Doom VFR or Fallout 4 VR was.

I have it set to epic. I set the resolution to two notches below full and I'm using SS 1.3 in OTT.

I think you can go much higher than ss 1.3 - also OTT seems to overrule everything, setting the in-game res slider to min or max has no effect on my system (I constantly get ss 1.8). Using 2080 Ti you'll probably have no problem setting OTT to 1.8 like me (you have like 50 - 70 % more gpu power than me - and 3GB more video ram) - or at least ss 1.5. Graphics improve a lot when ss increases.

If you like the game, just play and enjoy it. Btw, many years ago one of my friends really never forgave me for showing him what to look for when comparing bilinear and trilinear filtrering - because he lost some performance using trilinear and now he could no longer go back and enjoy bilinear filtering, lol.

I've spent like 5 hours in the game - and they say it's a 30 hours game. So I'm like 17% done? But hey, my save game says 3%  😮 - Maybe something has been holding me up 😞 ... I'm at the big gate - giant stone mountain in front of me sculpted like ... Odin? Lost Sharky and had some trouble getting him back, but it's fixed now  o:)

Hmmm  I had kinda this situation last night:

No way I could play this game sitting down, it's not Moss 😉 - I can't swing the sword properly sitting on a chair or throw things, I need total freedom of movement  o:)

Maybe you're a ... Bow Man?  😄

I've connected the CV1 HMD usb to a switch with 4 or 5 ports (connected to VR Ready type-c 3.1 Gen2 port on my mainboard), where I can toggle power on and off. Much like this one:

Index is always fully connected, but doesn't interfere with the Oculus app at all. CV1 hmd is totally gone with I turn off the usb switch - and available when I turn it on, has been working flawlessly so far. Oculus app works fine too when CV1 is off, I just get a notification that my HMD is disconnected, but it can see all 3 sensors etc.
Fun thing - I haven't changed batteries in old Touch since June or July, but yesterday power was still 100% - who can top that!

Been playing since launch and im still on saga 1 due to the dreaded UE4 d3d device lost error craSH happening on my PC (not a laptop so its not a power management thing).  Only games using this engine give me this issue.  Asgards Wrath and Trover Saves the Universe.  Sadly I never finished Trover due to this and I really hope this isn't the case for this game cause im absolutely in love with it
