Attention Developers! VR for ANY game?

Back in the day I used to play games in 3D using a pair of ELSA 3D Glasses. Now I know 99% of all games are developed in a 3D engine/environment.
I would love to be able to play games in Stereoscopic on my Oculus, for now it doesn't matter if it's a front-facing only experience the 3D alone will be well worth it.
Would this be hard to do and has anyone thought about doing this?
I know there are programs like Vorpx, and even an Android app that does this.... but I'm looking for a more cheaper and viable method for everyone.

I think its quite tricky but from what I've heard you can play 3D games on Virtual Desktop 🙂

Isn't that just being able to play normal games on a big screen? I don't think it converts games into 3D?

Does this work for anyone, even with non-3D games? I tried with Outlast and it didn't work at all. I just tried to run it off the desktop.
Rift-S, Quest 128GB, GO 64GB.

If you just want to play normal 2D games on a big screen, just use Steams default viewer.

I think its sad that they haven't made a simple 3D only mode for games. Still not too late to add it. I think lack of FOV was one of the many reasons 3D failed in the marketplace, but now we have Rifts and Vives running around. On the PSVR reddit page there is TONS of praise just for the 2D cinema mode, because of the big FOV which many console gamers have probably never experienced.

Neither Virtual Desktop nor Bigscreen apparently have a way to increase or decrease the amount of separation between the two 3D images, i can't imagine the "pre-baked" 3D in movies or video looking very good for most content without that. But since VR headsets dont yet offer convergence adjustment, do either of these programs allow you to adjust the 3D in games so its properly at your IDP at least? Does scale and distances look correct across the 3D spectrum when you use it?

If that doesn't make sense, what i mean is that for objects within the scene beyond a certain distance, they should be separated to your IPD value, causing your eyes to stare straight on as they would in real life. Getting the images apart enough for that is important to lend the proper sense of size and distance to the objects. Like-wise, objects near you need to be closer together, causing your eyes to cross (converge) nearer, as they would looking at a finger. There is a linear relationship between these two points btw, Said another way, changing the size of your virtual screen will change the angle your eyes take on when viewing the objects, changing their position and scale.

We are truly in the early stages of VR and 3D...

I did have some good tweaking software with my ELSA 3D Glasses and looking back.... I had tweaked my FOV in games to the standard view-distance we get now with the Rift. This is one of the reasons why modern day VR is so cool.
