Went to check out the August sales after seeing the Meta blog post and noticed nothing was on sale. I did a chat with Meta Support who informed me "I am afraid I must inform you that when your are unable to see the promotion, it means you weren't among the selected group for this promotion."
I think it is crazy for a company to have a large sale, one that they post on their blog, and then to just randomly not let users access the sale. It creates a ton of confusion and wasted time, when you could easily have at the beginning of the blog post *Sales are for a randomly selected base of users" - While it makes 0 sense to do that, it would at least be transparent and let people know why they aren't seeing the sales.
Instead, I have just been hopping to the Playstation store and buying the same games over there, which I at least get the benefit of the better haptics, but Meta is literally losing money by doing these random sales.
My suggestion is you go back to the old way you did sales and let everyone access them. I have owned each Quest headset other than the pro, and have been using them much less due to this.
I don't buy it. Sales are to boost profits, not a gift for randomly selected users. Meta already use direct-marketed discount vouchers for that (although never for me). How would you feel if you bought something in a sale at a big bricks and mortar store, only to be told "sorry, that discount is only for the person behind you in the queue"?
It sounds like a fault that they are unable to fix and, for some reason rather than just admit that, they pretend it's selective to annoy as many people as possible.
I think what you are saying is definitely more likely. I am just trying to bring attention to it however possible, if you could give my post a thumbs up for more visibility that would be great.
So the summer sale has started again and low and behold I'm exempt again... Not 1 single **bleep**ing reduction.
I been exempt every single **bleep**ing time and Ive not got anymore patience for Meta quest.. Their customer service is terrible they conned me out of referral credits for probably 6 purchases where I've received nothing.
I actually hate this company, shoulda known really considering it's ties too that weirdo who owns facebook
I'm new too the ecosystem and already I feel like I'm done with it, only a few people get too see sales while us new adopted quest users have to pay fill price,
They won't be getting mo more money off me, back to my psvr 2 it is
I did see the link, but for me all prices are the same as always. I would have liked the discounts very much and guess I bought a lot. Now I am not buying anything (for the full price and referral discounts from 25% to 15%).
Just disappointed here. Meta Quest VR is too good to leave behind.
Just again need to have patience and confused that Meta is using a "some do get" policy. The same with the features offered in the releases. I still don't have the feature to hide games mentioned in V66 and am running V68.
The same thing is happening to me. I have contacted support each time and was told my account isn't enrolled in the sale. Last time they added credits to my account, but I just want to take advantage of the sale for several games. How much more money do they want from me? I've already bought a $500 headset and many games at full price. I think it's false advertising and is total BS. I have contacted a few VR youtubers to try and get them to report on this problem, but haven't had any luck.
Hello! I am in the same situation. I've been like this since March, which is when they had to change something in the system and it started to fail. Every month the sales come out and I am left out, they don't come out. At first I believed the story of random offers, although I didn't agree, but after 6 months I'm still an "unselected user", so don't lie, it's a bug that they can't or don't want to fix. I continue fighting every month even if it's just to get credit, because I don't feel like spending money anymore, I'd rather spend it on Steam for PC or other things.
It's ridiculous that when I tried to purchase an app from the promotion list, there was no discount at the time of payment. Has anyone else encountered the same situation?
