So is this just about being able to feed SteamVR/VD a fake controller or have you managed to grab (tracking) inputs from non-Oculus devices using those Python libraries?

I'm grabbing hmd/controllers/trackers state and tracking data and feeding virtual vigem controller. It's hardware agnostic at this point although I have no way to actually test non-meta devices.
But I'm done with this idea as vd performance is somewhat disapointing and I'm back to using Airlink fulltime.

How are you grabbing the tracking data? Because AOT only works with Oculus devices so how exactly do the Python libraries come into play?

You just ask openvr and it gives you everything you want. python library is a wrapper for the openvr api. just like Auto Oculus Touch is an AHK wrapper for the oculus api.

@kojack hi. I hope you're doing great. I can't achieve smooth or constant vibration on quest 3 controllers. feels like a low frequency or interrupts between the motor activations. q2 controllers worked ok before.

Does normal buttons and axes work with AutoOculusTouch through VD? This app normally works with the Meta Desktop Software running via Link or Airlink and may not be compatible with the VD's Oculus driver emulation. You can try FreePIE VRCompanion by Ofisare. It has SteamVR and OpenXR compatibility but only works with kb&m currently.
