Blackroom. New kickstarter game from Carmack and Romero in 2D?

I just stumbled over news that the old team Carmack and Romero have launched a new kickstarter project:

The kickstarter video looks pretty cool!

I am just a bit disappointed that there is absolutely no mention of VR support, plus the game itself doesn´t really seem to be well suited for it. I had my fingers crossed for a big new VR title from Mr. Carmack but maybe that will happen anyway.

Still cool to see the old team back together 🙂

Ooops sorry then. Didn´t John Carmack and the Romero dude work together on Doom?

Modern FPS games need dynamically/procedural generated maps for multiplay to help balance the gameplay.  Strange that there's no mention of VR.  I think the concept of various level themes is something new.  I was there when Doom hit...what a game that was!  Some here may remember Romero's Diakatana...

Yes, John Carmack and Adrian Carmack both together with John Romero an Tom Hall were the founders of id Software. Adrian and John have no paternal relations, just randomly share the same surname.

Im sorry, but I lost all respect for romero when he walked out on gauntlet seven sorrows.

Do these guys really need a kickstarter to release a FPS???
