For the last two months or so I have been making a game of sorts for my design thesis. I hesitate to call it a game because you don’t exactly play, its more like experiential training. The idea seems simple enough. I want people to feel like masters. I am having people pass through a set of calculated digital experiences which learn and evolve from biofeedback, in hopes that people will absorb valuable life lessons, principles, and skills which can be applied to the real world. I call it Decca, and I’m incorporating some of today’s newest technologies, for better or worse, to make it all work.
These gadgets include: the Oculus Rift, a Leap Motion attached to it, a Mindwave Mobile brainwave sensor for monitoring the user's focus and meditation levels, and an Xbox 360 Controller
Any feedback, questions, or mockery is greatly appreciated.
This idea can work out great for the next Mirrors edge on the next gen gaming systems. If this oculus rift can be incorporated into games, parkour like Mirrors edge would be a perfect example of utilizing this idea. Keep up the good work!
This is really cool, I would definitely want to try it!
I have few questions: What does the Leap motion do? Is there any other functions than jumping? The end of the video all the buildings are exploding, is that something the user triggers? or just for fun for the video? 😄
