Dead and Buried, my best Rift/Touch experience yet.

Had a game of Dead and Buried tonight.
I cant believe how good this game is playing shootout with 3 other random guys (decent people too).
At first I sat on my chair playing, then found it wasn't really working as I couldn't take cover.
Then played on the floor and what a hoot, ducking down, kneeling, standing and hiding behind imaginary barricades, sticking my gun over the top or around the side and peering out before shooting these people.
Hit my desk a couple of times trying to pick up other weapons though, so wish I had a slightly larger area (about 3-4 foot square).
Obviously felt and looked like a right tool too, but I was alone so didn't matter.

Give it a go, it is fantastic and easily the best game I have played so far.

Tried horde mode a short while ago. Gets repetitive very fast. Will try some of the other modes later.

I'm still liking the Unspoken a bit more at this point. I've played quite a few shooting games on my mates Vive prior to getting the Touch controllers, so I'm guessing that just feels a bit fresher to me than yet another shooting game. That said Dead and Buried is a very good shooting game though I might add.

The game is awesome! Watching it on 2D screen does not do it justice, it's so much fun when you're in there, ducking behind cover and stuff lol. It can be quite a little workout as well! Just so much fun, definitely one of my favourite games at the moment. 🙂  I hope they develop it further, be able to add people within game...

Thank you Oculus for the free game! 😄

Love this experience with the touch.. reminds me of when i was a kid at the 'fun fair' - (amusement arcade or similar) esp the bird things and bar bottles.
The stats of other players are unbelievable: 15000+!  compared to my 1500 but still having a laugh. Might get the family to play this Christmas for some fun instead of the annual wii curling competition (-:

Tis great that lower scores are listed near some names I recognise..

i think this game needs more single player.  i tried the target practice, then moved on to one of the shootout (assuming that i was playing against the computer), but it was actually a multiplayer game.  it was my first time and still learning how to play the game.  i didnt know what i was doing and everytime i respawned, i died immediately.

Very polished, and wonderfully kinetic.

Unlike Superhot VR or Unspoken, however, I'm finding the Rift's cable to be a bit of a bother during play.  When the game spawns you behind a wide pillar, or a pile of barrels it's not much of an issue, but then it'll go and spawn you behind a knee-high box with very little cover, sending you diving to the ground to avoid being hit.  I've managed to step on the cable and pull against the headset sufficiently for Oculus Home to register my Rift as being unplugged, which I fixed by pushing it back in under the facial interface.

The only other quibble with it would be the same issue most 2v2 games have - when you're partner drops out and the game becomes 2v1.  There really needs to be a spawned bot or something to prevent the match from becoming a one-sided shooting gallery.

I love D+B but have one issue, which isn't limited to D+B alone.
I have Arthritis in my knees, this means that any game where I have to crouch behind objects to take cover very quickly become a literal pain.
I have only played one round of Horde so far. It was great fun but ended my gaming for the night due to knee pain. I also felt bad for letting down my partner due to having to stop crouching during play which meant I died.. a lot. 😕

There needs to be an option of a crouch toggle button for players with my or similar disabilities.

Until this happens I'll be playing target ranges and quick draw duels.

Anyone else find themselves facinated by the physics of the cobweb on the gun in the options?
Beautifully detailed game. lol

I've been playing this game for about 5 days now. I gotta say it's the most fun I've had with a video game in a long time.

Super impressed - thumbs up!

Great game but it makes you realize you have to get your space setup properly to fully enjoy the duck and cover options. You won't survive if you're not behind cover.

This has quickly become one of my favourite games, but I do have 2 issues with it:

1. It uses my oculus username in multiplayer. I wish there was an option to set an alias.
2. Several times now I've joined a game, but in the stage where you see a little miniature of the level I just see a bunch of people spawned, and I am unable to ever progress beyond 'get ready' and actually join the game. There seems to be a bug of some kind related to joining games.
