Digital Rain DK2 - [NOW PART OF MATRIX VR]

EDIT: Digital Rain is now part of the fantastic 'Matrix VR' program developed by Tipatat Chennavasin, Eric Beyhl and myself. You can download that here: http://www.tipatat.com/TheMatrixVR/

Due to this, I've taken down the standalone version.

Excellent, thank you - can't wait to try this out!
Hopefully that'll be before middle August (since I'm in New Zealand).

Will the framerate be at 75 for the rift. Im testing it without the rift and it is locked at 60fps..too slow for the DK2. All my other demos run in excess of 90FPS. I have vsync off.

Hmm. The app enforces vsync and I've got a funny feeling the 0.4 SDK enforces it also (I may be wrong). How are you disabling vsync? Certainly I've had other people say that they have run the game in direct to HMD mode (which enforces 1080p @ 75Hz) with no problems so as far as I can tell the app should be able to hit the 75FPS no problems.

Either way, you will need to have vsync enabled for DK2 as it's a rotated display and any tearing will be vertical and make your eyes go out of sync.

I'm disabling via the nvidia control panel.

It's possible the new 0.4 SDK overrides any call to disable vsync but I may well be wrong. As I say though, vsync will be an absolute requirement for DK2 given the orientation of the panel and other people have reported 75hz so hopefully when you get your DK2 hooked up it should run fine 🙂

I launched the directmode executable, but i just got a window which was completely white and i heard the sounds.
Maybe related to my SLI setup (2 x 690 GTX)? Did not have any problem with Oculus SDK demo's in SLI.

p,s I suspect fps was a lower than the standard oculus demos I've tried, not sure why

I just uploaded a new version that improves the framerate quite a bit. Give that a go if you like!

It's not SLI I have a single 660ti with the same white window, it does not activate the Rift. Win 8.1 64

Trying to run this but both the direct to rift exe and the regular one only send to my primary display and not the rift.

Are you running your Rift Display Mode in "Direct HMD Access from Apps" or "Extend Desktop to the HMD"? Direct HMD access seems to work ok extended does not.

This seems to be a bug with Oculus' display drivers and / or Unity integration as far as I can tell. As soon as a new SDK is released I'll build against it and hopefully resolve these issues.
