Is ED now steam-exclusive? They say no - but are they lying?
Where is the problem? Frontier say they can´t start working on it without SDK 1.0 - but Oculus is 1.0 already distributing to selected devs - even with CV1´s ! Why not to frontier? ED is a AAA prestige title!
Why only cryptic messages from frontier?
I bought ED. I bought a HOTAS. I pre-ordered a CV1. Never played a second of ED. Not even installed it yet. I only want to play the right way: ED+HOTAS+CV1. Nothing less.
And now my dream is in danger. So - again: WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON???
probably ED has been disconnect too long from oculus (oculus guilty to made the mess with many SDK version and hardware incompatibility). Now they issued many patches et released several versions of ED, and getting rift support back to the code will probably be a huge work (introducing bugs). I am pretty sure ED is very reluctant to put mess in their code without knowing how is the interest for the CV1+ED. Also possible that even if interest is good, they just skip on VR if business is going ok with regular users.
SDK releases have been too volatile until now. I do not blame Frontier for their hesitation but I can thank them for putting in support for Oculus even though there are only developer headsets out there and the SDK was far from complete. I only wish other companies had been brave enough to support the new technology over the last two years.
If ED was the only game with VR support I would still have paid the 529.00 pounds for the headset.
I am only 40 minutes from their Office in Cambridge, I am tempted to stalk them 🙂
PS wow just spotted there are only 6 people browsing the forum 11:03 12/01/2016 GMT. Is that an all time low? Maybe now the pre-order is out every body has relaxed. 😄

That Tweet was from 8th October since that day silence....But what I´ve seen is that FD are working close with Steam, first they put ED to sale on Steam and now in CES they were showing ED on the VIVE, we will see what happen after 28th March, fingers crossed, its my favorite game to play on the Rift! I read a post from a dude with CV1 (developers one) testing ED, he says it was a pain in the ass to get it working, but he did with 0.8 runtime, thats good news, but we need full support, so plz Oculus or FD dont leave us alone! :cry:
Elite is working awesomely with the DK2, 0.8 runtime, and SteamVR. SteamVR will support the Rift as well, they are a gaming platform and want to sell as many VR games as they can.

I thought the same, makes sense, Frontier have supported them for a while now, it was a sudden switch, then bam! No oculus logo on their PR Campaigns, They might just go for the 'Vive exclusive' deal, and might be pissed at Oculus for choosing CCCP over Frontier for the first 'SpaceSim' Title.
