Hi everyone,
I am new to these forums and to the Quest 2. We just recently bought this system for a family friend who has a degenerative retina disease. He is no longer able to drive a car or his boat. He can no longer golf or fish, and can barely do anything outside, because sunlight blinds him. He can not even see people's faces, unless the light is JUST right, and he is uncomfortably close.
He was given this idea by his son, sometime last year, that maybe he could experience some of those activities again, through a VR system. So we got the new Quest 2, bought special lenses for him to see without his glasses, and it turns out that it worked! Mostly.... Now, however, we have hit a wall with the following issues:
1.) He is absolutely useless with technology, and we need to be able to see what he sees, so we could potentially guide him. He wants to pay someone to show him how it works/how to use it the way he wants to use it, but I have never heard of anywhere that will show you how your device works in-person anymore, that isn't online, or a YouTube video. Any advice or suggestions on this would be most welcome!
2.) There is no category or filter for apps that he can just click on, and it starts an experience. We are looking for some experience apps, like driving, boating, fishing, diving, golf, freefalling/parachuting, or anything that he can "experience", without having to "play" a game too much. If anyone could provide a list/some suggestions for him, that would be great!
He tells us he wants to call Facebook to ask them about what games/apps are available, but I really doubt they could/would be able to help him find anything. If I am wrong, please let me know, and I'll give him the number to call!
Thank you for reading through!
