This message is for Meta to share my feedback after 4 years of usage of Quest 2 and Quest 3.
I really like VR, and I want it to be an active ecosystem.
My feedback may not be the same as the majority of users, and I see that Meta is targeting younger generations than me. But I have a credit card, and spend more money for games now than when I started to work 😉
I think I would use more my Meta Quest with some improvements, which can help the adoption.
1. Confort
I'm using the BoboVR M3 Pro and it's way better than the Elite Strap I had for Quest 2. But it's still to heavy. When I'm tired after a long day of work, I may not want to put it to avoid headaches. Please work on something more comfortable by default. Even my friends prefer to watch movies on a small laptop because of the confort.. wen seated, it's OK to have a puck !
2. Seated experiences
I'm not always in the mood to do workout. And don't even have the space in my room sometimes. That's why I like when games are giving the option to be seated. And I know friends who can't do VR because of motion sickness, I assume it's less a problem when seated. I know we can see that information in the store : seated & confort. But I don't see a way to filter on this criteria in the store, or in my library.
3. Meta Quest Link app
I'm a PC guy. If I can have better graphics with my PC, I'll prefer to use the PCVR version. And wireless PCVR is a game changer. VirtualDesktop is a masterpiece, and your Quest Link sucks. Quest Remote Desktop is not good (gamma makes things difficult to read, desktop feels like 25fps, etc.).
You are lucky because Meta Quest Link app starts automatically with Windows, so I see it every day. But it's a big missed opportunity... why don't you show me all my quest apps, even the one that are not PCVR ? Perhaps that'll make me more likely to pick up my headset and start a game with one click? Maybe I may buy a standalone game directly from my PC ?
I also started to buy all my games in Quest store to have the standalone + PCVR version, but now I buy them on Steam...
4. OS and Content
Except the new v77 in PTC, I really like the evolution of the OS. And we are lucky to have more and more content.
