So there is supposed to be an open beta for From Other Suns, the new FTL-like space shooter from Gunfire Games (the guys that brought us Chronos and Dead and Buried). Supposed to be this weekend from 29th sept - 1st oct. Does anyone know when it will appear on Oculus Home? They are leaving it a bit late, would have thought it'd be on there by now to give people a chance to pre-load like Landfall.
Devs said on reddit the most content one possibly could have seen of the final game in the beta weekend was 20%, which is very cool.
But the really bad news is the game doesn't come out until November 14th, which is six long weeks away. Of course the more time they have to polish it up the better but I am ready for it now!
Its out now for pre-order, £24.99GBP so that's about 3 Euro or $4USD at current exchange rates. Released on 14th November so it seems the weekend beta will have been as close to the final product as matters. The store page mentions in-app purchases, hopefully this will be significant and periodic DLC.
This looks brilliant. I really need to get myself some more Oculus Friends. I have nobody I know in my real life who has an Oculus. Multiplayer looks so good.
I went ahead and pre-ordered (like, the day it became available) so if anyone is going to need people to play with when this releases, you can send me a friend request (if you aren't already on my list!)
I wonder if the golden laser-pistol preorder bonus will have any unique effects (visual or functional) or if it is purely a weapon skin and nothing else?
