Well my pre-order says "Sale will end in 23:21". It is now 18:38, so I'd say probably about 6 or 7pm, could be as early as 5pm though, who knows. Depends on whether it's ready for download the instant the pre-order sale ends. I'm in the UK btw.

It says sale end IN...So sale ends tomorrow at around 1pm. Not sure what time tomorrow it will be available for download.

It now has an "active in" timer - looks like its going live at 6pm proper time.

Quite good fun so far. Gets quite tough playing it solo. I shall have to try it with some randoms next time and hope that some of the folks on my friends list get it.

Does anyone know how to easily discard or scrap weapons you no longer want? You soon end up with arms fulls of the darn things and no easy way of dropping what you don't want, unless I've missed something obvious.

I had a lot of fun with this yesterday. It really is a mix of Borderlands and FTL. What I like most about this is that the game is really unforgiving so firefights feel dangerous. You have to really work together and be tactical if you hope to survive.

I think the way death is handled here is really clever. You have a crew of 3 humans. If one of you die you return as a robot. The problem is robots can't heal using stim packs. But once the last human dies, the game is over.

Lots of gun variety and I love the little shields you get.

I also like that they offer a wide range of locomotion options. You can even play seated.

On the negatives, matchmaking didn't work well. I couldn't easily find a quick match. I had to start my own game, play a while by myself until people joined. After your crew dies you get separated. So it's a good idea to add people to your friends list and form a party (I didn't know Oculus had a Party feature).

There aren't many coop multiplayer VR games that aren't wave based shooters.  In fact, there aren't many shooter games that aren't wave based.

I had a few crashes so it certainly needs a patch. I maxed the graphics and used 1.3 pixel density set in game.

Cheers for the info mate, sounds great! I'll defo buy this at the end of the month. Some questions for you if you don't mind:

  1. What does FTL stand for?
  2. Is this game 3rd person and 1st person mode?
  3. What rating would you give it out of 10?
  4. Is it worth the money?
  5. Does it have that WoW factor?
  6. Is this game better then Robo Recall? Or just
Thanks in advance! 🙂

1. What does FTL stand for?

Faster Than Light. It was a simple indie game made by 2 people. People loved how fun, addictive and difficult it was. But the ship combat is nowhere near has difficult as FTL.

2. Is this game 3rd person and 1st person mode?

First person. Lots of locomotion options. You have a teleport like system where you move your character in third person but snap to first person when you get to you teleport destination.  You can get hit by enemy fire while moving.

3. What rating would you give it out of 10?

It's too early to rate but if I had to rate it today I would give it a 10 because it's better than any non-sim VR game I have. Better than Robo Recall and Arizona Sunshine because it's coop and replayable due to it's procedurally generated missions.

Also, it's really really hard which really makes gunfights feel dangerous. And dying has consequences. So you really have to carefully make your way through enemy ships and be as tactical as possible. Already seen plenty of Rambo teammates get wasted and ruin our mission.

Is it worth the money?

Definitely, if you like the idea of a challenging coop shooter.

Does it have that WoW factor? Is this game better than Robo Recall? Or just

It's not wow graphically or in terms of a VR experience. But for me, there is this wow about teleporting to another ship with a crew.

I say it's too early to review because there are a few bugs. I had two crashes and it wasn't easy to find a game. I had to start a game and start playing by myself for about 15 minutes before people joined. What worked best was adding people to my friends list and starting a party.

It's  probably best to get it early so you're not the noob crew member two months from now considering this is a really hard game.
