Try to disconnect any controllers you are not using, racing wheels, HOTAS, etc. The controller scheme in Unity apparently reads input from all the controllers, so if any are off-center it will result in input sent to the game.
All I have plugged in is my keyboard, 360 controller, mouse, Astro A50 mixamp, External HDD, and the Oculus lol..

Ilja is there any time-frame on the alpha access for backers? I may have missed an update or e-mail regarding this so I apologize in advance if that’s the case. Thanks again!

I tried the demo and here is my feedback:
1. I tried playing with a Manta MM814 controller, and the controls are way off. The "triggers" calibrate the Rift and reset the level. The Start button does nothing. I couldn't figure out how to use the two kinds of ropes, I only found two buttons that fired ropes (left and right shoulder buttons). Turning left/right is mapped to pushing the right stick up/down. (Could go into more detail if desired.) Some way to remap controls is needed, even as simple as a .ini file.
2. The angle I'm facing is reset every time I respawn. This means that every time I respawned in the demo, I had to turn further and further right (IRL), and occasionally feel around for my desk, turn back left in my chair, and recenter.
3. After about 50 respawns, I've given up on beating the tutorial - not sure how much the above problems affected this.

For the full game we will have an ingame controls configuration system.
For the demo you could remap to that controller by launching the game and quickly holding the CTRL button. This will open the unity popup window ( might open under the actual game window sometimes ). There you can go to the INPUT tab and remap the controls to your liking.
"Kenopipuu" wrote:Well, this doesn't really apply, since this problem was quite situational - I was stuck at the last part of the tutorial, with the floating purple bushes. As I kept colliding with them very shortly after respawning, I had to turn a bit to the right to face them again after each respawn. It was more tempting to turn physically rather than using the right stick, which is why I kept turning more and more to the right. This didn't reoccur after I went on to play the demo today, as I got used to joystick turning, and was never confronted with a situation where I would need to respawn as often.
The respawn problem sound weird. But you should be able to fix this by facing the direction you want to be the neutral direction in meatspace and press backspace on keyboard or back button on controller ( after remapping it to something that works on your controller ).
