Judder with CV1 Euro Truck Simulator 2 & American Truck Simulator??

Hello community,
So I have a PC with 980Ti and OC'd FX-8350 which had no issues what so ever running both American Truck Simulator and Euro Truck Simulator 2 on a 2d screen. This was at max settings too. Flawless framerates.
When I went through Steam and selected the "experimental 1.3 oculus support" and had the launch as "-oculus", the game ran on my CV1 Rift, but the game is absolutely unplayable with terrible judder and latency issues. Seems to be low framerate, but I couldn't tell as when I ran fraps to check framerate the numbers just kept stacking and made a mess on my monitor. I couldn't read the frame rates. This happens whatever graphics setting I put it to. Even bare minimum won't get it running right. Everything is choppy and when I move my head left to right I notice "black screens" as if the game hasn't loaded yet and is still catching on to render on my rift.

I have no clue how to fix this and I have already tried re-installing drivers and such (also did that due to other issues on my rift sigh*), but I'm running out of clues to what could be causing this. Help would be very very appreciated.

Thank you!!

Well, at least I'm not alone on this haha. Hopefully we can find a fix soon because absolutely love both of those games in VR.

I guess neither of the DEMOS on Steam allow you to sample the VR effects because who wants a Demo running Beta Code, yes?  Any way to force the effect with a command-line or .ini change perchance?

Otherwise I'll just pony up the cash and start hauling produce 😉

For a demo? I have no clue. All I know is for the full version you right click on ETS2 or ATS on your Steam Library and select properties. Then you go to Beta and select the Oculus experimental thing then on the launch options you type in "-oculus" to make the VR support work with the CV1.

Remember that ETS2 and ATS are both running on DirectX 9, that was dropped from the support of Oculus ages ago, so SCS software had to sort of "hack" the Oculus runtime to make it work with a DX9 game, so there are always going to be issues

Unless the 2 games merge completely to DX11 or even DX12 (That would be cool)
