Hi all. I have been trying to get Kodi working on my Oculus Quest 2 in order to play VR 180 videos. I have a lot of videos in this format on my NAS and would like to use Kodi because of its metadata capabilities. I was able to sideload Kodi for Android onto the Quest 2 using Sidequest. VR 180 videos play but not in VR as with other players. They play with the video for both eyes output on one flat screen. I am currently using Skybox VR on the Quest to play the videos and they play in VR correctly using it. There are two possible solutions I see:
Any advice or suggestions to get this working are welcome. Thanks.

If you have kodi installed on a computer I would suggest downloading virtual desktop all your problems solved. Installing kodi on to your quest is not so great for vr content as it was not built for that. The tools in virtual desktop solved all these problems for me.

Why not enable SMB on your NAS. Then use Skybox to connect via SMB (network options) and view your 180 VRs in Skybox.
Kodi can be loaded on some NAS boxes. Enable DLNA and then you can connect Skybox via DLNA.

Hello, please, how were you able to set up Skybox VR as an external player in Kodi, as you describe in point 2?

Hi. I ended up going with a third solution that was suggested by someone in another forum. I basically set up Kodi on another PC and enabled UPnP DLNA as described here:
https://kodi.wiki/view/Settings/Services/UPnP_DLNA
Once this is done I used Skybox VR and it automatically detected my Kodi installation. All VR videos in Kodi were then able to be played by Skybox VR. I hope this helps.

Hi. Well, I am trying to set up an external player in Kodi for a slightly different reason - I use Kodi and its addons for watching online movies. I would like these to play in Skybox VR as they don't look too good in Kodi app, which is not tailored for the VR use.
