At least according to this article:

Quote: "You can get your hands on Lone Echo 2 in early 2020exclusively from the Oculus Store. For more developer interviews and game industry convention videos, be sure to follow Shacknews and GamerHubTV on YouTube."

Interview with the devs (confirming the 2020 launch year at the very end of the video):

That's easily one full year from now, man I miss Olivia

Of course it's fully understandable that such a game may take about 3 years to develop.

Early 2020....   Shame, but worth waiting for I think 🙂

Hmmm, Lone Echo 2 would be my primary reason to get a Rift-S this year, and of course there're still Stormland and Asgard's Wrath - I'm not sure I'm that much into games like Defector.

Also I greatly enjoyed using my CV1 ss 2.0 last night, not sure this craving for a new HMD is very important. I don't really notice SDE when moving. Let's hope Asgard's Wrath is ready in July! With 30+ hours of gameplay, Asgard's Wrath could be the one massive VR game to rule them all  😉

I just started my second playthough of Lone Echo with Rift-S.

Its nice to see everything with clearer graphics this time. Its also long time since my last play and i kinda crushed through. This time i will take my time and enjoy the journey.

That’s LESS than a year. Anywhere from 7-9 months.

Yup, if the deadline holds - the last one didn't... Early 2020 could mean anything from first quarter to first half of 2020, although they probably mean the first quarter. But it also implies they'll miss the Christmas sales - so I doubt the game will be out in January 2020. The end of Q1 2020 is 10 months from today.

Dear Oculus, you know what I'm going to say, don't you? 😛

But @snowdog ,  Vive doesn't even have Lone Echo 1 yet!

Side note, I still need to actually finish that one.   Hopefully I will have by the time Long Echo 2 arrives.    Seems like more than enough time, I know,  but if I miss even one collectible / secret in an area, I don't know how I'll be able to continue on to the next.   Damn completionist habits, preventing me from actually enjoying games.

If it's going to be another massive puzzle game then I don't care.

I just don't love puzzle games. I never even bought the greatest puzzle game ever--Portal.

Don't get me wrong I enjoyed Lone Echo and I'll certainly buy Lone Echo 2 but I feel it's a totally missed opportunity. Echo Combat VR is amazing. If they just added Echo Combat VR to a story-driven campaign it would be the Half-Life 2 of VR.

Puzzle games are not going to bring the masses to VR. Why invest so much time and money on a genre that has only a tiny fraction of gaming sales? That's just my opinion.
