Lunadroid 237 - An Interactive Narrative for the Oculus Rift

Lunadroid 237 is the latest virtual reality experience from Unello Design. It is a short interactive narrative designed in Unity for the Oculus Rift. Lunadroid takes place on The Moon on July 21, 1969. Part game, part short film, it is inspired by exploration games like Myst and Dear Esther as well as sci fi films set in space like 2001 A Space Odyssey and Moon. Best enjoyed with headphones.

Also included along with the game are:
The Lunadroid Suite – Original sound track
3 Lunadroid 237 wallpapers
Void 1 (Cosmic Ice) & Void 2 (Cosmic Earth) – Extra VR experiences, along with their soundtracks, all of which came out of Ludum Dare, a monthly game jam.

I'm tripping out just from watching the trailer! My rift can't come soon enough...
Oh, the brutal wait until Christmas. Downloading leagues of demos to make the wait less agonising.

I am going to donate, its not for the main Luandroid but because of the Void 1 (Cosmic Ice) one, in the Extras, that felt like a place of growth + love, like a spiritual place. People that need to mediate or find some peace could go into there with Hemi-Sync's binaural beat music, you could do a lot with that space, keeping it simple and a place of healing but with some occasional stimulation like universal truths go by, or Buddha sits down or appears,

That's some thing I never thought about the rift before, that it can provide a place of healing or gentle learning, you don't do any thing you just be, I think the iceworld (Cosmic Ice) one is ahead of its time, I felt touched and different by it.

You should have $10 in a min, if you update iceworld to play users song (from user music folder) and the color texture and radiance of the ice works in sync with it to enthrall the user, I will donate again.

Places of peace and meditation are rare.

What a cute short story. Almost like I'm Eve from Wall-E. So, did I miss something or is there something to actually do to qualify the "interactive" tagline?

To me, gathering the landing site photos and walking around are the interactive parts.

I don't see any of that?

I'm stuck in the crater and then get sucked into the hole, then probed.... 😛

That's it, no interaction.

Ah, I only played it once and it seemed like I was in a crater, could not move then the wormhole appeared. There didn't seem to be any part where I could move or do anything. I'll try it again and see if I can do anything.

The interactive demo was interesting, especially once things started to happen. I felt like I'm in the end of the movie 2001: A Space Odyssey. Nice visuals and quite trippy.
What really did it for me though, was Void 1 (Cosmic Ice) experience. That was amazing! So surreal. I was just sitting there and was mesmerized by beautiful visuals, sound and movement. Beautiful!
