Running into a weird issue where just using the Quest 3 in passthrough mode and watching videos on YouTube causes the headset temperature to climb to 40 C and the fan kicks in at 100%. I didn't see this problem before in previous builds. I'm not sure if various fan speeds should kick in before going to 100%. I've had the headset since December of last year and haven't had any issues like this. The temperature of the playspace is around 21C.

Hi there,
Thank for bringing this to our attention. We understand your situation, here are some solutions to the problem :
Take Breaks: Regularly take breaks during use to allow the headset to cool down.
Optimize Environment: Use the headset in a cooler, well-ventilated area.
Avoid direct sunlight. Check Vents (The air vent is the little crack that runs around the front 😞 Ensure that the vents are clean and unobstructed.
Avoid using the headset while being plugged.

Same thing with me. I just got the V71 update today (8/10/24) and the fans are kicking in at 100% and do not spin down again. Having to keep pressing the power button to put it into standby, then pressing again 5 seconds later temporary stops it, but does it again a short time later. Never done this with any previous builds, needs addressing ASAP.

Having the same issue! My headset sounds like a leaf blower since this update and gets so hot! It’s crazy
