Meta quest 3 experience

Hi everyone,

I come in peace — not here to complain or ask for troubleshooting — I just wanted to share my experience in case it helps anyone else or sparks conversation.

After switching to fiber internet, I started having physical reactions only while using my Meta Quest VR headset. Some of the things I experienced were:

Sneezing fits while in VR

Nausea and dizziness

Visual disturbances after taking the headset off (like lightning flashes behind my eyes that lasted about 30 minutes)

This didn’t happen when I used my previous internet provider (Spectrum). I did speak with a Meta representative who suggested changing settings on the headset, but to be honest — I have PTSD — and I’m now feeling a little nervous about getting back on VR until I understand what might be happening.

I’m sharing this to raise awareness, not for troubleshooting. VR is powerful technology, and I’m wondering if fiber internet’s faster signal could possibly amplify sensory effects for sensitive users like me.

Thank you for reading. I love VR and appreciate all the work Meta puts into this technology. Hopefully my experience helps someone else who might be noticing the same thing.

Stay safe and take care.

The two things that come to mind here are:

- Some people get reactions to the physical material of VR headsets due to the type of plastics or foam used. Meta had to send out free face shields to Quest 2 owners because so many people had an allergic reaction to it touching their face.

- Did the new internet service require physical modifications? When I upgraded from Optus Cable to NBN, the installer had to drill holes in the wall next to my PC to mount the cable port. That meant dust and stuff was was left, which may be giving you a reaction.
