Hello, I have question about Metro Awakening.
So, is it better to buy it on the meta quest store or through steam and play with a cable?
Where will it be have better graphics or performance if it any importance.
Thank you in advance for any answer.

Hey there @pawcioio,
Thanks for joining us in the Meta Quest Community Forums!
Personally, playing Metro Awakening would have better performance and quality through Steam and Connecting the Quest headset via the Meta Quest Link Cable.
However this is entirely dependent on whether your PC meets the recommended system specifications to run the Quest Link Application and to be able to run Metro Awakening on your PC.
Here is the recommended system requirements to run the Quest Link App -> Requirements

Hope this helps! 🐢

This is Quest 3 vs. PSVR2, the PCVR will be even better than PSVR2 as PCVR offers more graphics options and you can get more clear image quality. That said, using a 2D video expect PSVR2 and PCVR to look similar. Note how all real-time lights and shadows are cut from the Quest version - and the res looks worse on Quest, which can be hard to see in a 2D video, but will be very easy to see wearing the hmd:
Quest 3 has about 2 tflops, PS5 with eyetracked foveated rendering about 14, and a PC with RTX 4060 Ti about 22. RTX 4090 can do 84 tflops. So the difference in raw processing power is immense comparing lowest and highest ends. That said, the game is a Quest game - the lowest common denominator decides the geometry, but you get more effects and realism going for the high-end versions. 2c.

It’s listed as crossbuy so if you buy the Quest version you will have a PCVR and mobile version of the game, this is the way to go IMO.

Yep, as it's now listed as cross buy, so the choice becomes:
- Meta store: get Quest and PCVR versions
- Steam: get PCVR version only.
The price is roughly the same at the moment for the deluxe edition: Meta is $66.99au, Steam is $66.55au.

The Quest version has more NPC shadows than the PS version.
In that video the NPCs have no dynamic shadows at all on PSVR. While neither platform has a shadow for the guy standing in front of the floodlight and no shadows for the player's hands, the Quest version at least has a shadow blob under the feet of NPCs as they move around compared to nothing on the PSVR.
