No DLC sharing on shared accounts - By design

Anonymous
Not applicable

I have been playing both BeatSaber and Walkabout Mini Golf, both fantastic games. In both games I purchased extra DLC content. In both cases, that content could not be seen from other profiles on the same device. In short, if I want to play the DLC, I have to be in the owner profile. It is NOT visible from the shared profiles.

I wrote to Oculus Support asking about this and their simple reply was "This is actually intended behavior, DLC does not get shared with app sharing."

They further suggested that if I wanted to suggest features or provide feedback, this forum is where they "officially" receive feedback and try to understand the communities opinion when they makes changes. If I believe that DLC and other in-app benefit should be shared with app sharing, I should consider posting feedback here.

Well here's my feedback. It's absurd to share the base app but not DLC. It makes no logical sense. In fact, I can't even PURCHASE DLC on my account to gift to someone that owns the base game. If I want to gift DLC, presumably, I also have to purchase the base game.

It's just silly. Come on guys. Make DLC shareable and giftable. If I had known this in the first place, I'm not sure that I would have purchased my Oculus Quest 2.

This is beyond ridiculous. Same here, bought Walkabout Mini Golf DLC for my son using my profile, obviously, and it doesn't work.

Your Ideas that are able to improve the customer experience should be posted HERE in the community forum. Who knows? It could be implemented in the future. *wink, wink*

Similar problem here. We have one Quest 2 unit. I love playing Walkabout - as does my son, who has his own profile. It would be great to be able to see who can get the best course records etc. We can do that on all the free courses - but he can't even play the extra courses (I've bought them all) unless he uses my profile. So that's what he does - but it messes everything up with the course records.

Yes it is ridiculous to not share with my children profiles I cannot afford to buy all dlc twice for every games so I`m seriously disappointed

Agreed. We ran into this with Beat Saber. We should not have to buy two copies of every game and two copies of the DLC to be able to enjoy the same games on the same Quest. Either allow profiles under the main account or tie the games to the Quest itself.
