Non-store games not working with CV1?

Hey guys

I'd like to try some non Rift-store games, like Dirt Rally and DCS: A10C, but can't get them working. Anybody know how I might be able to import other games, or get them working?

Hi, first of all I think you have to check the Unknown sources in Settings > General from Oculus app.

Then, try to start a non-store game and let us know if it works.

I think Dirt Rally only runs with older SDK's right now; last time I tried it using the DK2 it ran pretty poorly for me.  I don't think there is any official timeline for support - only a vague suggestion of eventual VR support.

If you have check the Unknown sources in Settings > General all games wich are runable with the current runtime/sdk will work. You dont need to get oculus partner keys for your steam games or for example for trackmania from ubi, when its becomming hopefully soon oculus support.
Oculus put that setting, because they are scared that you can maybe download a virus, maleware or pornographie, if you use other plattforms than oculus home.
Thank you for so much care about us, oculus.
I recommend microsoft and all other companys doing the same to protect all the helpless users.

They also need to be recompiled with the latest 1.3 SDK. Apps using older SDK will not work.

You can use Live for Speed.  First install a full version 0.6N from http://www.lfs.net

Then use the updated DLL for 1.3 https://forums.oculus.com/community/discussion/comment/349557/#Comment_349557

Pretty much all the old DK1/DK2 games and demos won't work with the new consumer runtime. Though non-store games can work, the developer would need to update their game to use SDK 1.3 (or newer).

Or in the case of steam games, SteamVR is supposed to work.

That also includes devving with say Unity, you need  the correct unity version, plugin, assetPackage and rebuild.

Works tho, even on DK2 never been so smooth head tracking , must be the timewarp

Yep, apparently SteamVR has been updated today to support Oculus SDK 1.3, as well as keeping 0.8 support.
