+1 to Tridef for bringing all the other critters out of the woodwork!

Nice to hear Nthusim is still a go! 🙂
If you need another tester, let me know!

i wanna help too!

the thing is though you gotta get the headtracking right first of all. in every single other "driver" ive seen so far the headtracking just seems a bit "off" either too wobbly or...i find thats the key thing and if it feels a bit off its going to ruin the entire experence so......hopefully you guys can work on making that the best 🙂

Is this a competitor to Deskope? I've been using it and it's a blast -> viewtopic.php?f=29&t=1505&start=180

Here hoping for a release of Nthusim to try.

We've been working on Nthusim HMD since our Immersaview office in Brisbane got it's Rift kit in May. It's just now to the point where I feel comfortable showing a bit of it off. A lot of things should change in the next few months as far as feature set and user interface. I'm interested in an OSD for keyboard interaction and overall configuration because a Rift is ungainly to use with a real keyboard. Early Access testing will be critical in shaping interface design for Nthusim HMD.

My main goal for Nthusim HMD is to make Windows functional in general with the Rift. In many ways that's quite a bit more of an undertaking than just dropping Rift native compatibility into a single game. IMHO, the Rift should transparently work from the moment of boot to desktop. That is the direction I'm pointing Nthusim HMD development towards. I consider our goal for Nthusim HMD to be wider reaching than something like VorpX, TriDef 3D or Vereio. There are a few unique features that should make Nthusim HMD of interest. Competition drives up innovation and drives down pricing. That is better for all of us as gamers. 🙂

I wanted to show in the posts above desktop mode and a bit of how it currently works with video content. Most developers are showing game content, so I wanted to show something a bit different. Nthusim HMD still does DX7-11.1 and OpenGL game content too. The first early access pool for Nthusim HMD gets flagged for testing Monday and I send out access for the installer Tuesday. We're still very early in development and want feedback from users to help shape the human engineering side of the utility and how to make it more intuitive to use. Building upon our foundation of advanced projector utility development, I look forward to seeing Nthusim HMD evolve alongside Oculus products over the next few years.

Thanks,

Not really, Immersaview has had desktop render pipeline functionality available since 2010 in our projector utilities (Sol7, SimVisuals and Warp). Nthusim HMD has a wider reaching feature set than Deskope. Desktop render pipeline is just one feature of Nthusim HMD. We do full DX7-11.1 and OpenGL render pipelines too. 😉
