Oculus is the worst purchase i have ever made

I purchased a rift s from new a few years back and I have never once had a day where it works smoothly, I have gone through 3 different PCs and all of them could more than handle vr however the oculus was appalling, I would have to restart my PC countless times, disconnect the headset then reconnect countless times, sometimes it just wouldn't find games or would load on my PC but would just show an infinite loading symbol on the VR, the controllers are in no way good as they will just randomly show my hands as no where near me and sometimes they would just stay in a fixed position which I would then have to just give up on trying to play vr and hope that when I next tried to play VR it fixed itself, I love the concept of VR and any experience I have had on literally any vr that's non oculus I have loved more than most gaming experiences, I will find a way to play VR however it will not be with Oculus or Meta as they are terrible devices and they are in no way worth the price you have to pay for them, for them to just bring out a new device in a couple of years time that will then make your device incompatible with certain games.

Have you ever tried it plugged into a powered usb hub? Many people have found powered hubs fix basically all Rift-S issues. After I put mine on a powered hub (Orico 10 port hub) it's run without issue for 5 years (still got it connected right now).

I don't know what that means, I'm not the most tech savvy but do you know if it also fixes controller issues, mine just stay fixed near my waste on my screen no matter where i move them in real life.

I mean something like this: https://www.amazon.com/ORICO-Aluminum-Individual-Compatible-BT2U3-7AB/dp/B09JKG9R7B

A hub to give you more USB ports. But the important part is that it has its own wall power supply. The Rift-S is very sensitive to power (it's basically an LCD monitor, 5 webcams, mic, headphones and bluetooth-like transceiver, all running over a single cable). A lot of motherboards don't provide stable enough power on their USB, so the Rift-S may not work at all, or may work sometimes. Plugging the Rift-S into a powered hub can help boost the power to match what the Rift-S needs.

The good thing is usb hubs are handy in general, so even if it doesn't help it's not a total waste if it doesn't help.

Although since this thread started, it seems a lot of people have been complaining about the Rift-S stopping working due to one of the software updates. I haven't had that happen, my Rift-S is still fine, but many have had an issue. So it might be Meta's fault.

(Note: I haven't tried that hub in the link, but I do have two older Orico hubs that do fix my Rift-S)
