Playing games bought in Oculus Home in 2D

As per the topic. For example Dirt Rally. Can version from Oculus Home be played in 2D or the only way is to buy it on Steam and only then I can play Rift/Vive/2D?

Same question for Defence grid 2. Bought this in Oculus store, but cannot see multiplayer version or 2D option. In steam store I can pick it up for £11 while I paid £23 in Oculus store for cut version...

Can anyone explain what's the official policy here?

Also is it possible to play i.e. Chronos on flat screen? if I get tired of VR (i.e. motion sickness) but want to continue on flat screen for a couple of hours?

On Oculus Home from Desktop right click game icon, if it gives you start in Desktop you can play it from your Desktop, if there is no option then it's VR only.

2nd option is go to your Oculus folder then under software and search the game folder to see if there is a .exe file for 2D, some games have it hidden but some don't have the option at all like Chronos.

Thank you. I will try it out, when I will get home.

Most of the games on the Oculus Store are VR only, but a few do include 2D versions. The recommended way is to open your Library in the Oculus app, and right-click on the game icon. There may be an option to "Start in Desktop Mode". I don't think this works on Dirt Rally, but it does for The Assembly and Radial-G (as an example).

I got to the bottom ot this. Thanks guys.

Unfortunately defence grid 2 vr and normal are two different games and it is not just VR support added. All gameplay got slightly adjusted to fit VR requirements. If I want to play DG2 in 2D need to buy it separately to get access to multiplayer etc. As for Chronos is pure VR title (it is a shame though as I would love to be able to play in 2D using the controller. Radial-G i owned from DK1/2 times on steam anyway. I also bought Dirt on steam not being able to confirm if 2D version would work in oculus store.

There is a lot of good oculus related stuff on reddit about each title.
