Propagation: Paradise Hotel has just launched and is an awesome experience!

This may be a game I should have put on the list - it's surprisingly awesome, and it just launched today:

The games is here - priced at $20:

RECOMMENDED SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS:
    • Requires a 64-bit processor and operating system
    • OS: Windows 10 (64 bits)
    • Processor: Intel Core i7 equivalent or greater
    • Memory: 16 GB RAM
    • Graphics: NVIDIA GTX 2070 equivalent or greater
    • Storage: 9 GB available space
    • VR Support: Meta Quest, Oculus Rift/S, Valve Index, Pico Neo3/4, HTC Vive Focus 3, HP Reverb G2

This is a high quality release - high-res textures, dynamic shadows, great lighting and high poly count. Using RTX 3090 I got 90 fps with Index res 300% and Ultra graphics setting.

Native Meta drivers are supported for optimal performance.

This feels like one of the big VR releases this year - much better than Saints & Sinners 2. This feels like a 9/10 game.

I took a few shots - hands look great, your mission is to rescue your twin sister, so you're female:

Zombies and corpses look terrifying - or close:

You got dynamic shadows:

Maybe hard to see - but note that dynamic shadows cast by the fingers

For locations, you got great atmosphere and great lighting (here Ultra settings):

There are many ultramersion textures in the game:

All in all a great surprise. Year 2023 is getting better and better!

Tried my good old Rift CV1 with the game, and the difference was massive. Suddenly I could see properly, rarely needed the flashlight.
Also gun angle was perfect with Rift CV1, but needed adjustments with the Index.
Using oled with CV1, gold suddenly really looks like gold, marble looks like real marble - with Index (lcd) metal and marble look more plastic-ish. But the ultramersion textures look much better with the Index.

The game uses Oculus SDK, and it even dominated so much that the game started on my Rift, even when wearing the Index and starting the game from inside SteamVR Home.

Everything is perfect for Rift CV1, including the blacks - really feels like another Rift CV1 game arriving late to the party 😉

This video also shows many high-end features like the lighting etc.:

Not sure if I can handle this one 😰  I noticed in my Rift library that I had Wilson's Heart and Paranormal Activity last week - definitely haven't played them and couldn't remember buying them - looked through all my Oculus receipts and found one for a Monster Party Pack in 2019 - I'm guessing they were in there 🤣

Now having fun playing Wilson's Heart 😁

Big PC, all the headsets, now using Quest 3

Wilson's Heart is not very scary - I'd go for that for a start - it's more a great adventure game. It's awesome - much better than close to anything else 🙂 Yup, even Propagation: Paradise Hotel can't hold a candle to this:

Paranormal Activity - I'm with you there, got the game, played it for like 10 minutes, lol. You gotta be some kind of masochist to enjoy that 😅

Propagation: Paradise Hotel is more like Saints & Sinners - maybe think of it like some S&S together with your best friend ... Jeff 🤗

I guess I'm back with the Rift CV1 for this game - it looks awesome with the Rift CV1 oled panels - and using ss 2.5 (27 mill pixels per frame combining both eyes). Just took this image with the CV1:

I'm getting too many batteries - don't need them much with oled. Really hope we're going to see some oled hmd with a DisplayPort connection from Meta one day... Or that this game may arrive for PSVR2 one day...

Forgot about the cinematic trailer - it's great and adds some background story to the game:

Yeah yeah, totally agree, Wilson's Heart wasn't scary 😉 - finished it last night - brilliant game.
Onto Paranormal Activity - we'll see how much I play...

Here's Quest 2 vs. PCVR:

As shown, the polygon levels are designed for the lowest-end Quest 2 phone gpu (Quest 2 uses the Adreno 650 phone gpu), but lighting, textures and shadows were greatly enhanced for PCVR - among other graphics features.

The great changes to the textures may be much easier to see inside the hmd - and with PCVR you can increase res a lot to get ultra-sharp image quality and superior antialiasing.

I'm just playing through this game and totally agree it's a very polished game.

The game has raised the standards in quite a few areas.

Agreed, gotta get back to the hotel too, but Humanity and Firmament got in my way, lol. Also have to be in the mood to visit Paradise Hotel, as it's not particularly relaxing 🙂
