The new free social platform Resonite has just launched on Steam:
"Enter a novel digital universe with infinite possibilities. Whether you resonate with people around the world in a casual conversation, playing games and socializing or you riff off each other when creating anything from art to programming complex games, you'll find your place here."

Compared to the extremely low-end social platform Horizon Worlds , which is made for mobile/phone gpus, Resonite is only for high-end users - there is no support for lowest-end platforms like Quest1-3 and other standalone hmds:
Recommended system requirements:
You do not have to spend time with other persons, and you get your own Home similar to the destroyed Oculus Homes - and it really does feel great to get back a Home 😍 I took a few pictures:
My new Home - you need to create an account for that, but it only takes a few minutes
Very touching - after being homeless for months 🙂
I've just entered my new Home
Plenty of stuff to use
There's real-time lighting - my hand is increasingly illuminated as I approach the light source
Got back my bow and targets - had much the same in my beloved Oculus Home
View from the balcony - more simple than my Oculus Home, but my Home is much bigger now
I guess I've got a standard home like everyone else 🙂
Nice flowers and you're up high - you can choose to fly like superman if you want - and visit other places - that you could not in your Oculus Home
My Home now has several sections, it's not just one big room
Nice lighting - you can turn it off, this is very gpu demanding
My new TV room - or bed room - or whatever you want it to be. The giant fan in the ceiling is rotating (=animated)
You got many settings
Very high-res textures for your gloves
You can meet with other users in Resonite - I have not done that - for now I'll focus on the Home. The social platform is early access and will develop much more in time. So far it looks like a nice replacement for my Oculus Home.
Here are a few shots made by the devs:
It may be noted that Horizon Worlds is tanking in the Rift Store with 168 ratings, and a very poor average rating of only 2/5 (40%). Currently 93% of 240 SteamVR users are positive about Resonite - and that's 240 ratings in a day, while it took Horizon Worlds 3.5 years to get 168 ratings in the Rift Store. This is the review of Resonite that has gotten the most positive votes:
"I logged in, was invited to a spaceship and met a talking kangaroo that gave me drugs.
After that I met a programmer that, in game, live edited my avatar so I could take off me head and pass it around.
After that I watched movies with animal people from across the planet.
Trust me this is amazing. You can do anything. This is what people think when they hear "metaverse""

I just tested Resonite with my great Rift CV1, and the game totally integrates in my Oculus library and fully supports native Oculus drivers - this is my new Home seen from the outside:
Resonite is as demanding as the Oculus Home, so do not expect much better or worse performance. I'm using ss 2.5 (27 mill pixels) and did get reprojections many places - but would get much similar in my Oculus Home when using same res - my Oculus Home was using ss 2.3 back then.
Btw, RoadToVR also wrote a piece about Resonite a few days ago:

Maybe it's easier to show Resonite and its potential by showing some screenshots from users, their homes and the worlds they've built - directly from Steam:
Highly detailed avatar, and Valve Index finger tracking is supported - you can track your legs too if wanted, full-body tracking is supported
Make your own world
As shown here, the detail of avatars is close to lightyears ahead of Horizon Worlds
