But just converted it to Rift mode, the menu and next level screens will look a bit odd but the game should be OK, although on screen info will probably look warped or not appear at all.
Anyway in 7Zip format weighing in at 6Mb ShortFall the Rift edition ShortfFall
Of course you can really tell what is 2D and which is 3D. There is a sense of scale which you need to Rift to determine if that is what you were going for. Seemed fine to me. The lights are great effects but the strobe effect is too overpowering for me when the Rift is strapped on. I can't remember how Descent played but it seems like the controls could be enhanced somehow. Again it's a great start especially considering it was done so quickly.
This was surprisingly neat! The sense of immersion in the large space was tangible.
Also, it didn't seem to have much in the way of motion sickness problems. It's fun seeing colorful laser lights fly around.
Here are some comments: It would be nice to use the xbox controller instead of the keyboard/mouse. It seemed pretty tricky fighting the other spaceships, but I know I'm a newb. Rift users can't see the text, but you know that already.
This looks great. I can't wait to try it with my rift. I loved descent and forsaken back in the day, but it seems that the 6DOF genre had disappeared. Maybe with the rift, games like this will make a comeback. 😄
