SledgeRift 1.18* Demo

SledgeRift is a snow sledding game. You go down hill on a "vehicle" and collect coins. This vehicle is controlled by your head movment! You can use collected coins to unlock more levels or vehicles. The more coins you collect in single level, the faster the vehicle goes. You get personal highscores for each level. There are also Online Leaderboards so you can compete against eachother!

Supports Windows, Mac and Linux
Download Game at: http://konradjablonski.co.uk/sledgerift/

Here is a trailer of 1.17!

Note* The name you enter at beginning is the name used on leaderboards. If you play without internet, its better to disable online mode by going to the settings next to leaderboard.

Please feel free to give any tips and suggestions!

Thanks!

This game is coming along nicely! Love the new textures and the power up!

Bug report. If you can get to a fast enough speed without dying (I think this is what causes it), the collision detection suddenly fails on all of the obstacles, though you can still crash into the side of the track.

Are you sure that its not because of the power up? Just in case you dont know, but the powerup allows you to destroy objects and get coins from them for few seconds. If its because of the speed, I'll do some testing tomorrow and try to fix it in next weekends update 🙂

Thanks for letting me know about this !

Nice work on the update -- it's obviously evolving into a full game! Sadly my high scores don't seem to get sent to the server -- it does say "Online is Enabled", and I don't think anything's blocking outgoing comms on my end.

Colored coins with different values + things to buy definitely introduces a new sort of game within a game, so that's great. I didn't feel any actual difference playing any of the sled upgrades, but it was fun being inside of a barrel. 😄

Keep it up, and thanks!

I know one other person who had this problem, he was bigger YouTube and his score didn't submit aswell. Is it possible if you could play it again, and try the game with "Run As Administrator" and see if it works. Assuming your running the game on windows 🙂 I can't really fix it if I don't know where the problem is, since works perfectly for me 😞 Also are you running any anti viruses, if so which one?

As for game
awesome! Glad you like it. Once I got this demo polished up and working properly, I will start working on actual multiplayer races 😄 Hope 32 player mayhem race will be fun!

Vehicles are exactly the same, even collision range is the same. They are purely there for spending coins. In near(ish) future I will definitely add stats to them and unique features. Also some kind of upgrade system and customization of them. Try Barrel at night level, it's weird!

My next step is to improve looks of levels, and start working on character and shop for character clothes 🙂 Since having no body reference in oculus kinda sucks. Also more ways to spend those coins. That probably won't come next weekend, but who knows! Really depends on my bad modelling skills...

Anyways, thanks for trying out SledgeRift 🙂

I wasn't aware that was what the power up did. I actually started avoided it as I seemed to just end up dying shortly after picking it up (maybe I died after it ran out?). As far as I'm aware, it wasn't the power up that was making me invulnerable (though I could be wrong).

Fired it up without running as Administrator, I now see a bunch of new high scores (with Fluke having something like 283 for Sunny Day). Did a run to get a big score, and it didn't stick to the scoreboard. Got out, tried again running as Administrator, got a 310 on Sunny Day (go me!), and it still didn't stick. Also tried getting out and getting back in, no change. I confirmed that my PeerBlock isn't blocking any comms while I was playing. Not sure what else to check.
  • Titans of Space PLUS for Quest is now available on DrashVR.com

You could have tried Clear Night level or Blizzard night hehe, there is no scores for those yet 🙂

Thanks so much, at least I know it's not the admin rights. I will try to fix this over weekend, guess google will come to the rescue haha 🙂

Ohh you made Titans of Space!? That's by far my favorite Oculus demo! Love it! Amazing work on that!

When you hear the fire sound and when the sled is on fire, that means your invulnerable, and what ever you hit you get 5 coins and smaller amount of speed on average then from coins. 🙂

Hadn't tried this for a while... it's great! Highly addictive. Each time I died I had to try "just one more time" 🙂

I'll definitely be voting on Greenlight if that becomes possible, and buying, too.

Two small observations:

- After each round, I'd like to see how many points I got, and how far away from the highscore I was..
- And also, I think a pause to physically get ones head straight before the round starts would be nice. I often had to turn my whole chair when I started a new round because I hadn't been looking straight ahead when the round started.

Other than that, it's really fun!! I would have bragged about being 11 points ahead of Fluke at time of writing, but since he didn't know that it could be an advantage to pick up the power-ups, I guess he'll take back first place in no time 😄

Thanks for a fun game!

If you press R on the keyboard it will reset the level and the rift's orientation.
