Space Engine is a free space simulation software that lets you explore the universe in three dimensions, starting from planet Earth to the most distant galaxies. Areas of the known universe are represented using actual astronomical data, while regions uncharted by human astronomy are generated procedurally. Millions of galaxies, trillions of stars, countless planets!
Just read a comment from the dev on the Steam Greenlight comment page that said the next released version will have full Oculus Rift support:
SpaceEngineer [author] 3 hours ago Has first experience with Oculus Rift in SpaceEngine. Mountains on a planets, star ships in orbit, distant planets on the sky - so huuuge! Full support of the Oculus Rift will be in the next version.
Warm kudos to the creator of this, its really special isn't it. I created a thread over on star citizen about why this isn't the space engine for the game.., would have been worth the effort to merge cry 3 with this. breath taking, cant wait for rift support.
Hi there! I am the author of SpaceEngine. I tried to make my own thread, but the forum says I am a spamer. WTF?
I made Oculus Rift support many months ago, and now working on preparation to the release of the new version 0.972, which will support Rift. Here is a video I recorded recently:
I have DK1 and SpaceEngine built with pre-DK2 SDK, so I should work abit more to implement the DK2 support.
PS: I hope admins let me to create my own SpaceEngine thread to post news and receive feedbacks.
