Just a heads up: you may have to tweak some console variables to get it working, as per http://www.reddit.com/r/starcitizen/comments/1z0ox6/oculus_rift_help_and_discussion/ . Also, there is no true stereo 3D in this version, I think for now they're just doing one render pass and then splitting into two views and distorting.

I've created a 5 minute video for those who want a look.

As BigRobCoder says, it's currently not a true stereo implementation. Although it works to a degree, the quality just isn't as good as if they'd done true stereo rendering. Maybe there are still issues with Cryengine in that regard.

Maybe these cvars from Crysis 2 regarding stereoscopic rendering can help: http://3dvision-blog.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=12&t=1018

Looks like it's not worth bothering with at this point. Maybe they'll implement decent support after they raise another $40 million.

They are not taking the right approach. At best you will get a "3D tv on your face effect" with this, and right now not even that. They really need to use the projection matrix from the SDK, or there will be only sickness and disappointment.

They are working on true 3d.
The patch is discussed in the early part of this vid.

Well I didn't get to test it out last night but from the sounds of things it's not very good.

Sounds like it isn't even using two cameras... I don't even know why they bother if they aren't going to do it right. What kind of step is "just make it flat, then we'll do it 3d later"?
