Stick Drift

So I know that stick Drift is a big issue on the Quest 2 and Quest 3 Headsets. If you look online Hall Effect sensors get rid of the stick drift issue. Really Hoping Meta makes these a standard in there controllers soon. Nothing breaks immersion worse then randomly moving somewhere you were not trying to go.

Have you guys had issues with Stick Drift on your Meta systems?  Have your swapped the joysticks for Hall effect sensors?

The triggers on the Touch controllers already are hall effect, so it would certainly be nice if they did it for the thumbsticks too.

But sadly none of the big companies do, MS, Sony and Nintendo (especially Nintendo) all suffer stick drift and don't switch to hall effect.

I'd probably try replacing the thumbsticks myself, but so far none of my VR controllers have ever had any issues. (Got 14 controllers all together)

Yep, that's a good one.

Some people just say WD-40, but it's specifically the WD-40 Contact Cleaner that should be used, not regular WD-40. It doesn't leave residue (it all evaporates) and it's non conductive, making it safer for inside of a controller.

Yeah I have cans of the electrical contact cleaner but unfortunately wear and tear over time makes this solution N/A to the situation

Drift Blocker is a critical tool for preventing stick drift caused by grime buildup. Keep controller drift-free up to 10x longer protection vs. unprotected controllers, which can be incredibly frustrating for gamers who depend on precise controls. Drift Blocker helps protect controllers from grime buildup, ensuring they remain in good working condition and enhancing the gaming experience. Drift Blocker is not a repair kit. Available on Amazon. Just look into it before a quick reply. They work.

I tried all the contact cleaners and replacement kits and watched all the YouTube stick drift fixes. I know people don't want to hear it; I was also like that. Just buy a new controller and then put Drift Blockers on it. My Quest 2 controllers have been stick-drift-free for 2+ years, and my Quest 3 controllers have been stick-drift-free for 1+ years.

They’ll never do hall effect joysticks because then people won’t have to buy new controllers because they can’t be bothered to repair it themselves.
