Subject: Feedback on Meta Subscription and Experiences
Hi,
As a user of Meta+ for the past five months, I recently decided to cancel my subscription. I have a few concerns and thoughts I'd like to share regarding the overall experience.
First, Meta Horizons comes across as overly childish, with a lot of games that feel pointless and underdeveloped. The free games offered as part of the subscription are subpar, and it’s unclear whether users can keep them after unsubscribing.
The overall Meta experience reminds me of a child seeing snow for the first time—it seems magical initially, but quickly becomes dull after a few uses. For example:
Dear Angelica: disappointing.
Jurassic World Experience: graphics are below standard.
Virtual museums: underwhelming.
The Line: a beautiful, one-time experience but mainly for kids.
The Blue: too short and offers little replay value.
Nature Treks: visually nice, but without any real purpose or depth.
I could list several more experiences I’ve had that I felt were not worth the money, which led to me requesting refunds.
I purchased the 256GB Meta 3, thinking it would be compatible with Oculus Rift. However, it turns out that while “The Plank” states it’s not for PC, it is in fact compatible with a PC, which was confusing.
Now, let’s talk about some of the better experiences:
Arizona Sunshine series
Echo VR series
The Walking Dead series
For children, there are a few solid games like Alice and Moss 1 & 2. However, Assassin’s Creed feels more like a demo than a full experience, Medal of Honor has long loading times, and Hitman was a complete letdown. I’m hoping Batman will live up to its reputation.
Unfortunately, there is too much poor-quality content in the store. Some notable disappointments include RuneSage and Swordsman VR.
Regarding pricing, I believe the Meta Quest should be more reasonably priced, especially given the cost of accessories like the headband.
In summary, there are just too many letdowns in the Meta store. It feels like Meta is losing its edge, similar to Nvidia's 3D glasses.
Meta is the worst. I bought 2 new units with two years of everything on both. Activated them to the meta horizon app, and only one subscription will be allowed. So I lose all that money and meta will not refund (they have an absoutely no refund at any time policy) nor will they activate it on the 2nd headset set. Meta is basically garbage, and they are declining. I wish I never purchased these. You won't get a refund, nor can you cancel the subscription. The ONLY way is to put it on a card that you can dispute the charges. That's all you got. I'm sorry. Its a very very bad company.
