Subnautica with Touch?

Anyone know if Subnautica can be played using Touch?

Be nice if they would finally give us default gamepad emulation with Touch. I'm sure I read something about this a while back, but I don't remember what it was they were doing.

So you can use the touch controllers with Subnautica (now)?

No. @KodaiRyu says he's emulating a controller with his touch controls. That's the same as using a gamepad.

I'm happy using Gamepad for Subnautica. Touch would be nice I guess.

By the way, for me Subnautica is THE best game on the Rift so far. I've had some really great experiences such as Edge of Nowhere, Robo Recall, and Lone Echo. Maybe it won't have the longevity as say Project Cars 2, but currently the immersion, gameplay, sounds, etc. are just so good. I had a tap on my shoulder Sunday evening from the wife telling me it was 12pm. I completely lost track of time I was so immersed. Not been like that in a game for years.

Lastly, as a tip for anyone playing...don't land your Seamoth right up on a beach. Mine has disappeared through the terrain and am currently trying to enable the console to use commands to get it out. Can't enable console at all yet 😞

Yep, cheers. I've done a load of searching and looking on various forums.

I can use F3 to show the options and then F1 to view a debug display. I just can't seem to be able to 'untick' the disable console option. I'll keep trying..

It looks like a great game. The development company seems to be a small indie team so I guess their recourses have been concentrated into getting it out of beta. Now that it is, hopefully they'll look at Touch control. I'm really tempted to get it anyway.

Yeah, I'm quite happy to use Touch in gamepad emulation - that was all I really wanted. Yes, it would be nice to have virtual arms (using a swimming motion with a Touch in each hand will soon get very tiring, believe me!), but I just wanted to be rid of the gamepad.

When I bought this - shortly after release on Steam probably a couple of years ago now, I played a lot on my screen, with mouse & keyboard. When I knew for certain it would have Rift support I stopped playing to wait to experience it in VR, but when I did, control was only possible with the gamepad.

Like I said, I don't like gamepad for FPS or such like, or anything other than arcade or driving games (not driving sims, though), it just feels awful to me, so I ended up going back to 2D on my monitor and played it for a few months on M&K.

Quite a bit has been added since, but I only want to play this in VR now. I want to use the Touch, which I feel is a big difference to a gamepad, and keep feeling that I'm short of breath underwater!

You obviously haven't used Touch, then. It's bugger-all like a gamepad. Yes, they both have buttons - but so does my keyboard, mouse, HOTAS, BU0836X panels etc etc. My XBone and X360 pad don't have mini-stix and I can't sit with my arms on the chair's armrests and still use the gamepad.

If anyone manages to get the debug window displayed so commands can be typed in please tell. I managed to untick the 'disable console' option after a lot of frustration but I still don't see the grey window to type in. In the non VR version I think this is maybe straight forward.
