Subnautica with Touch?

Anyone know if Subnautica can be played using Touch?

Be nice if they would finally give us default gamepad emulation with Touch. I'm sure I read something about this a while back, but I don't remember what it was they were doing.

Fiat Coupe, gone. 350Z gone. Dirty nappies, no sleep & practical transport incoming. Thank goodness for VR 🙂

Hi i am bumping this out of interest.  now the rift no longer comes with an xbox pad, where does this leave those players just with touch?  does subnautica now work with touch in pad emulation mode, or is it keyboard/mouse only?

In the lurch...?

Similar to games like Agent wotsit and Firma, which afaik are gamepad only - Firma definitely so.

I could ask the Firma dev, I s'pose.

I know it kinda sucks but It's not a bad investment to just pick up an Xbox controller since it's the default supported gamepad by windows and works with pretty much everything. I use mine mostly for emulators as the dpad works great for my old nes/snes/genesis favs. You can get a wired one for 30 bucks. Wireless is a more expensive solution if your PC doesn't have bluetooth already as you'll need a wireless version of hte controller and either bluetooth or the official xbox wireless adapter.

AFAIC it's not about picking up a gamepad or whether you get one with Rift (being a pre-order, I did) but how suitable they are, and the fact that Touch would be more suited to certain games.

For me, gamepads are the devil's invention. OK-ish for jumping in and out of racing games when there isn't time to set up a wheel etc, but otherwise complete garbage.

FWIW, I asked the dev of Firma about this - and have had no response (he used to be very talkative and we worked together on getting things working on both platforms, so he knew what to advise people having issues).

I think that speaks for itself. All I did was ask whether he had or  would be implementing Touch control, now that a XBone pad is no longer included with the Rift. In the tests we did, it was based entirely around the XBone pad in particular - not any other.

my touch controllers are working well as emulated controllers in subnautica, only con was that you could not rebind keys but now you can

I've been waiting to buy Subnautica until I could use the Touch Controllers...

Do I understand I now can, sensibly?

So you can use the touch controllers with Subnautica (now)?
