Surv1v3 - fight together, die alone from the Candymakers is now available for early access on Steam!
It's a zombie survival adventure with up to three player coop and other game modes coming soon. Probably best described as a cross between Onward, Arizona sunshine and Left4Dead, or "the thinking mans zombie shooter" - its more tactical in the way that Onward is and carries many of the kit handling mechanics, but takes this even further with weapon attachments and gadgets that have to be "learned" to be used by reading magazines found at various locations. It offers the feeling of open world but with structured missions that are challenging to say the least. For success you will need a strategy other than "shoot everything". The zombie AI is very good and they randomly transition between shambling and sprinting when their senses ae piqued. A good variety of models including ground crawlers and super zombies, only headshots work to put them down, or you can dismember them but this only slows them not kills. Early access though and still very buggy, but the devs are publishing weekly patches and listening to the community. No sooner had I installed and played the prologue (the worst part and almost had me refunding) than they dropped an update out with many needed fixes - new control map, snap turn and bigger hit boxes for pouches. Setting up multiplayer is odd there's no direct option for it, you have to play through the prologue, the next or "first" mission provisions you with a tablet PC and from here you can join other peoples sessions. There's also no teleport and that's a good thing.
If you like the style of Onward and zombie adventures with a focus on objectives rather than wave shooting then this is worth a look.
Thanks for the heads up. Looks like just the sort of thing me and my mate would be into. Will keep an eye on it for now though, as unfortunately my roomscale stuff is down whilst I try to sell my flat. Looks like it's cross platform too, which is good as my mate is on Vive.
