The Thread of Broken Meta/Oculus Homes - after update 53 Meta has disabled all Homes

Seems like Meta decided to tear down all Homes with update 53 - with no warning. My Home has been working for about 5 years, I'm extremely unhappy to lose my Home.

Some months ago I took a few pictures of my Home - feel free to add your shots or video of lost Oculus Homes to this thread.

I really never got tired of that view

It kinda felt like a real home - and depending on your income, could look a lot better than your home in the real world - this effect should not be underestimated

A great statue - I really liked that one

A few more perspectives:

My son usually would use the bow, light saber and gun - and import other stuff, but not hard to clean after him 🙂

Gonna miss the paintings:

- and gonna miss the carpet...

The reflections look awesome:

My Home was nothing special, many have spent many more hours decorating their homes. I really hope we soon can get our homes back.

There're also several threads on Reddit:

I've just sent a ticket to Oculus Support about this grave issue.

Although not the same quality as the destroyed Oculus Homes, Resonite still is impressive and may be used as a replacement - more info here:

I think it supports native Oculus drivers, but need to test that - I've only tried it with the Valve Index.

im willing to test it for you, ive a Rift S.

Question is, will it be available for my country. Previous time i got an invite code for Horizon and my country wasnt supported (Belgium). Its not Horizon but you ll never know....

-BTW, can you import objects/models too in your "home"?

Thanks - I did test Resonite with my Rift CV1, and Resonite fully supports native Oculus drivers like the now destroyed Oculus Home. Resonite is demanding, much like the Oculus Home were.

I'm early in the process of testing Resonite, not sure if you can import much yet. It is early access. For now it seems more focused on being a social platform and meeting other users. I'll explore the stuff in my new home more today 🙂

New floating sky-Home in Resonite with full native Oculus driver support - and much bigger than the Oculus Homes

**bleep** yeah, its demanding, slow startup but when running, it goes smooth (I7-7700K @4.4Ghz with 16Gb DDR4 and rtx3060 with 12Gb DDR6 installed on a SSD)

But wow it looks nice, pity i have to visit my parents soon and cant test much already.

You can find me as Straffe-Hendrick 😉

Does reminds me of Second Life but in VR style, Seems we can make objects and services as wish and contribute with the VR world... (Been on SL for 14 years now) Still have to report some "issues" like gravity related things... too much objects keep their position even if you let loose...

Thoughts so far??? 🤔🤔
Not so "addictive" as Homes, more complex to use and very high demanding for the pc. Managed to import 3d Models/objects but you have only 1Tb upload space (Homes had 250Mb each, but you could make 8 or 10 homes)
Didnt managed yet to edit my default house/world and didnt manage yet to add a new one from scratch. Did "steal" some free already existing worlds though.

If anyone has some advice/input how to in general, let me know.
