Here is my first ever attempt at a Unity 3D application... It is a VR tribute to Charlie Hebdo that allows you to enter their world, and showcases some of the work of the courageous cartoonists who were recently murdered by Muslim terrorists. I felt we owed them something. I call it The Charlie Hebdo Gallery. The rooms on the left are people who are still alive (although the first one was injured), and the rooms on the right are those who are no longer with us. The artists' photos are on the wall next to the door. This is completely unofficial and unauthorized. The images are mostly taken from their Facebook page and are considered fair use. It is just a small subset of their work, mostly focused on the controversial ones, to give you an idea what it is all about. But remember that Charlie Hebdo satirise everything, not just Islam. Also included are the Danish cartoons that Charlie Hebdo honourably reprinted a few years ago when all mainstream journalists disgraced themselves (and that disgraceful behaviour is what allowed the recent massacre to happen). I've made all the images life-size and at (my) eye-height, so I recommend playing standing up, and make sure you use R to recenter. Razer Hydra is supported and recommended, although you can't pick up or interact with anything. Hold your hands in front of you at about lap height and press Start on the right hydra to calibrate the Hydras. You can walk around with the Razer Hydra analog sticks, Xbox controller, or WASD (Q and E for comfort mode turning). I made the whole environment in the style of Charlie Hebdo. I also designed it to run at a constant 75 FPS on low-end machines, so try this out if you can't get any of the other demos to run acceptably on your laptop. Let me know if you can't get this running smoothly without judder. Also let me know if you have any other issues. But it's my first attempt, and I only had a few days (while working on Dolphin VR), so don't be too hard on me. 🙂 I didn't have time to add translations yet, so pardon my French. Known issue: There is no deadzone on the hydra sticks yet, so you may rarely get some uncomfortable turning when you don't expect to. See http://www.charliehebdo.fr/ for more, and subscribe to their newspaper. Enjoy!
Well, soldiers that consider themselves christian and attack innocent countries with a bit of collateral damage are in fact heros. There is no terror or christianity involved in that. And we all know that Jesus was a bloddy freaking hero, so ignorant and brutally stupid only an american could possibly be.
I leave you with a few inspirations. It is against my very own nature to let so much ignorance and lies spread by itself.
That video is entirely consistent with what I said (which is hardly surprising since I had watched hundreds of videos like that before I posted). And you will note that there is no mention of Christianity in the video. BTW, the video would have more credibility if it didn't have a crazy 9/11 trufer.
Here is an organisation that has been trying to document the body count since the US invasion began. Their methodology is not very good, but should be better at showing the pattern than wild guesses. It doesn't show what you might expect, especially when you break it down by perpetrator on the database page. https://www.iraqbodycount.org/
I wrote a longish post here, but the stupid forum lost it. I can't be bothered to write it all again. But in summary, the AFDI mohammed art exhibit and contest wouldn't accept Virtual Reality entries, so I couldn't submit The Charlie Hebdo Gallery, so a few hours before the deadline I had to come up with a sketch to enter. Remember it didn't have to be good, and I had no talent or time, it just had to be Fatwa-worthy, so I included as many inoffensive blasphemies as I could: http://s1167.photobucket.com/user/AFDIM ... ort=6&o=51 (For more about why this is so blasphemous, read the Qur'an and Hadith.)
Here's a stream of the whole award presentation with Geert Wilders, Pamela Geller, and Robert Spencer (I didn't win): http://pamelageller.com/2015/05/livestr ... test.html/
Spoiler: Muslim terrorists shot up the event.
Which means I need to draw Mohammed again, by 20 May (Everybody Draw Mohammed Day). Has anyone got any suggestions for a VR experience featuring Mohammed?
