Oculus Rift CV1, Valve Index & PSVR2, Asus Strix OC RTX™ 3090, i9-10900K (5.3Ghz), 32GB 3200MHz, 16TB SSD

Note that a few more VR games expected to launch in 2024 also got postponed to 2025, like:
Umami Grove

Outerra World Sandbox

Geronimo

Chances are high we'll get these 3 games too in 2025.

UpLoadVR just wrote that Pools VR has been delayed to 2025:
"The full release of Pools VR for Steam and PlayStation VR2 headsets is scheduled for sometime in 2025."

I expect Pools VR to be something special as the 2D version has 95% postive ratings based on 3,600 ratings, thus I've added the game to the first post in this thread. The VR version seems to be coming along nicely, I'd expect it to be ready in Q1 2025.

The Quest port Of Lies and Rain is also coming for PC in 2025, and has been heavily upgraded for PCVR:
Find the game here:

Story: "Of Lies and Rain is a story-driven first person shooter built exclusively for VR. Set in a dark, sci-fi, post-apocalyptic world, at the edge of the real and digital realm. You’ll fight to reclaim your past and save humanity from the brink of extinction."

Oh wow, Outerra World! There's a blast from the past. I hope for their sake they finally get to release it.
Ghost Town looks interesting. And the Riese Project - I played through most of that when the dev came on here - must take another look because I see there's been some updates.
Next year is looking good!

Agreed - also I keep thinking that there's little money in VR compared to 2D, phones and consoles, still we keep getting awesome VR experiences. And that trend does not seem to slow down next year - fortunately 🙂

It certainly doesn't look like it is! There are obviously plenty of organisations making good money out of apps and games already but for many more, it's about the potential.
I always look back to mobile phones - first one used in Britain - 1985. Cost around £2,000 each (£5,000 in today's money).
By today's standards, I was old enough to have one then but the cost was of course out of my reach and I thought why the devil do I need one. I bought my first in 1999. When did mobile phones become really good? 2005? 2015?
Did people say "mobile phones are dead?" - probably.

Seems like Beardo Benjo copied my list, lol - or maybe we just like many of the same things 🤔 🤗
I didn't notice the DLC to Vertigo 2 before, so nice catch there - but it's not a new game and requires that you own Vertigo 2:

Just saw that The Midnight Walk wants 100GB of space - that's very big for a VR game:
Minimum:
The game does look very impressive though - and for now is the game I anticipate the most in 2025:
Irriversible and Pirates VR both want at least an RTX 3070, and The Riese Project would like RTX 40 series. Still, many games have unknown recommendations at this moment, but also in 2024 we did see a trend of VR games becoming very hardware demanding - like Behemoth and Aliens: Rogue Incursion both recommending RTX 3080 or better.

I just noticed this potentially major upcoming VR release from MicroProse:
https://store.steampowered.com/app/1325580/The_Mighty_Eighth_VR/
The game/sim is called The Mighty 8 VR - "The Mighty 8th VR puts you in the shoes of a B-17 Flying Fortress crew member at the height of the Strategic Bombing Campaign over Europe. Partner up with friends and do your part to ensure that the plane reaches the target and returns home safely."
Not sure if devs will make it in 2025, we'll see - the screenshots do look amazing:
Maybe a good thing the RTX 5080 - 5090 may soon arrive, lol 🙂
