This is what my Meta Quest 3 Experience has been like.

1: Overheating even tho the fans worked and my house is set at 65f. All games ran in reprojection/it was beeping and freezing.

2: Dead pixels on both screens. Multiple near the center.

3: Dead pixels near the center and right joystick was clicky even when not pressed and clicked when moving up.

4: My latest one has dead pixels in the center right screen in a small cluster of about 3. Impossible not to constantly notice in any scene that isn't black.

Each drive to best buy is an hour each there and back through the mountains for me. 

So now I have to rush there again tomorrow or I can't return it and then I gotta wait for support to mail me a box? Send mine in then get a replacement?

I'm just burning money on gas and time at this point and as someone who is a developer and wanting to focus on MR/VR... it's really making it difficult.

Has there been any news or comment? I've seen numerous reviews saying it took 3-7 quest 3 to get one that works without defects. Along with that endless reddit threads.

Do I need to wait until for another production set?  I've tried different stores, I've asked them to grab me one off another pallet. I don't think I've ever have seen this poor of quality control for a lcd display.... and I frequently buy from aliexpress...

Went back to bestbuy today and exchanged it got home. Started it up and it has "Stuck" pixels that show up the second you turn it on and appear solid white no matter what you do.

All near the center and makes playing anything with dark scenes impossible.

So going to return this to bestbuy tomorrow for the 6th one.

Wish me luck. Hands down the worse display QC I've ever seen in my life. 

The best buy employees keep telling me the amount of returns for the Q3 is crazy so its no big deal.

I'm not even being picky. I just don't want solid white or solid black dots in the center of my eyesight. Its too easy to notice them and then focus on the display panel instead of the game depth.

Maybe your best buy store got a bad batch.  Might be best to just get a refund and order it directly from the Meta store.  My preordered Q3/512Gb is still working great after +3 weeks.  Ranting about this on a user forum isn't very useful imho.

That would be the case if it wasn't multiple different BestBuy's. Also issues with friends, many youtubers that arn't sponsored by meta mentioned it. That one German guy had to go thorough 7.

Along with multiple daily threads and many 100+ comment threads about it on social media. 

(This includes meta store purchases.)

I get there's going to be faults. But it's fairly widespread all things considered.  I've never had to buy a device twice because of issues.... but 6 times? 

(Honestly more people prolly have the issue but don't notice. Many people can't tell the difference between 60fps and 120fps some how even after it's pointed out. The pixels on the Q3 are tiny but I've been unlucky enough to have them near the center. If it was off to the side I'd have accepted it already.

Complaining on a forum doesn't do anything but whatever then problem is it needs to be remedied. No reason why ali express budget items have more reliable panels.

Edit: and again since don't have issues it doesn't bother you. But something isn't adding up ya know.

Sure send me a 300 dollar camera with a macro lens so I can take pictures of the dead pixels.

Just look at the tons of reports you are getting and find out what's going on with the manufactuer.

I did it boys. I finally was able to get a Q3 without 6+ dead pixels in the center of a screen.

Hey,

I just wanted to share that my Quest 2 is still unusable even though Quest 3 launched and they are making me return It in circles like an idiot.
Refurbished devices are not even checked if they are working properly.

Constant questions what is wrong on e-mail, chat support can only redirect to "specialized team" that doesn't even read the conversation and the ticket is thrown around to different people.

The only thing that remotely worked were phonecalls but they are not an option anymore.

I made a mistake buying anything from Meta, should've saved more money and bought any other device, now I have an unusable device lying around here.
