Torn - love it and am having serious troubles

I have now tried three times to play Torn.  I played once for a couple hours but when I exited and returned, the only choice is "NEW GAME".   I select a slot then do the check mark and proceed.   I went through the whole thing over and played about 3 hours this time.   When I went to the main menu I saw that it had a picture of where I had been.  Great, I thought, I shall be able to continue where I left off.

This was not my experience.  I loaded it up this evening intending to get further along and, there is only New Game as an offering.  I am loath to play through as much as I have again and I won't unless someone tells me how do I save my progress? I suspect you just can't quit to oculus home and if this is the case I'll find a time and go through the few  hours for the third time.

One of the difficulties I have when using many of the games offered is very little info. Saving a game slot shouldn't be difficult, but apparently, I'm wrong.  A few of the games I've tried from OH were ambiguous and those games are yet unfinished by me. Torn is nice, I'm enjoying it but not being able to take a break and come back is a nuisance.

Sorry, I have no idea! I'm waiting to play it until the fix the controls and I can just walk around with regular locomotion!

I beat the game (with locomotion controls) and never had a Save game issue. You may want to contact the dev's:

The locomotion isn't great, only tiny hops with the Dash method, I would have liked to go a goodly distance as in Sansar, but that is more like bunny hops.   I really like the game, its steampunk look is charming. Zenbane said:

Well I didn't do that, I did instead go today in and play once more.  I had been afraid to go to main menu imagining that my saved game would be lost, I did go there and that slot one is a picture of where I left off.

Do NOT use home's 'quit program' it will lose your info, go instead back to the main menu and then exit from there.  It was not explained and it probably makes much sense to most folks, but, it did not to me.  You MUST exit with the application's exit button or anything you had done, will be lost. Intuitive for some but I am not one among those who find it intuitive.

@Zenbane  even the Dash method isn't much fun the Blink works ok within the house but deplorable outside the house, more like a bunny hops as I mentioned before. Locomotion leaves something to be desired, however, the game is charming and I am very happy with it, especially since I no longer have to start the whole thing from scratch.

I would like to escape from the title flicks and get right in there, but, there is no provision to do so.

That's it, TORN is a no go, I can not recommend it.  I played for 4+ hours after my last posting and felt that my games were being saved. I exited via the program's exit and felt secure.  I queried these boards hoping for a plausible solution, but there is none.

Today I had the notion of going back and doing some more.  The only option I have is "New Game". No games had been saved.  Unless you can play this game through to its conclusion, you should not play it without the desire to go through it's into cinematics and then all the earliest portions.  There is no provision to save your game.

I enjoyed this game, I have invested over ten hours of time but I'm through. It's very nice but I can't go through the beginning over and over ad nauseum.
