My first attempt at a VR keyboard using Oculus and Leap Motion. It's very functional, better than my phone touchscreen keyboard anyway, nonetheless working on some variants and tweaks to make it faster and more accurate.
Above build is without keyboard, but does have Leap support in 1st person astronaut mode. I'll post up a build with the keyboard options soon, once I lock down the best way to present it in game.
Great work, crevver. There are a few Leap Motion keyboards on YouTube (Fleksy, Minuum), but most of those were non-VR. To my knowledge this is one of the first serious in-air qwerty attempts with V2 tracking.
You're probably working on a number of improvements, but my first impression of what's missing from your video is basic auto-correct. With that you could get away with making the keys smaller, then with the full keyboard fitting in the field of view there would be less distraction of lost hands from panning left and right.

My 2 cents: I had imagined Swype working best with Leap Motion's "table mode" (never released), but not so much for a VR air keyboard.
