I don't think they've even played the game - reads to me like they've merely interviewed the devs.
And I used to think Lucky's Tale was a decently polished "Mario VR" clone... until I owned Astro Bot. It's in a whole 'nother league. I fully understand why the director just became head of Sony Japan studio.
This trailer has meh written all over it.

PCVR: CV1 || 4 sensors || TPcast wireless adapter || MamutVR Gun stock V3
PSVR: PS4 Pro || Move Controllers || Aim controller
WMR: HP Reverb

Granted, it's probably very far from AstroBot, but I'm happy if it's an Index res 200% 90 fps game on my rig 😉

I fear the worst for Ven - latest trailer no longer shows the awesome dynamic shadows (seems removed), and the devs just announced that they will be making the game for Quest  :# - and it will be cross-buy - thus right now devs may be destroying beautiful PCVR graphics and dumbing the game down to phone VR levels (or GearVR if some prefer that term):

Hello VR fans!

We are happy to announce that Ven VR Adventure will release on December 17 on Oculus Rift! We also started working on Oculus Quest and Oculus Quest 2 versions (planned for Q1/Q2 2021 release).

We would like to also invite you to CLOSED BETA:

All dynamic character shadows are gone in the latest gameplay vids (PCVR version - compare with the above video):

Even though I like the idea of using Quest for PCVR, I do get the feeling that Quest is slowly destroying many of the awesome PCVR titles that would have existed in a Quest-free world...

In the quote the devs more or less directly say they've starting spending much of their time dumbing Ven down to Quest levels - and that's time lost making the PCVR version shine, might be quite a lot of time for small indie teams. 2c.
