Virtual Desktop is a little utility that improves your VR experience on the desktop. By efficiently replicating your desktop into the Rift, the application allows you to see your desktop on a giant virtual screen. You can browse the web, watch movies or even play non-VR games. It also allows you to launch VR games and resume from them without having to take your headset off.

After you launch Virtual Desktop, a tray icon will appear in your taskbar. From there you can manage your list of games, change your settings.

You can also drag & drop executables or shortcuts to add more games to your list.

Requirements
- Windows 8 or 10
- Oculus 1.3 Runtime

Latest Changes
- Added ability to browse 360 photos
- Added mirror to monitor feature

First off, awesome piece of SW guygodin :)! I started using free versions of VDT back when Oculus SDK 0.4 was out and just purchased the full version as soon as Oculus SDK 1.3 was released :).

Now, I mainly purchased VDT for its great 360 videos playback capabilities. Now and then, I find some content that just does not look right, e.g. people look too big, L and R stereo images seem to be swapped, etc...

Anyhow, what would be really great to have are the following tweaks/advanced parameters for the 360 video player:

a) zoom and/or FoV control

b) swap L and R images when viewing SBS content.

c) enable semi-transparency for the VDT GUI whenever 360 video/photo is being rendered

Thx :)!

I'm having an issue when I do the "Paste URL". It says "Failed to download video: Error: Unable to download webpage..." I have the 1.3 runtime with my DK2 installed. I can do everything else with it, but not watch 3D videos from youtube. Can you help

I'm having exactly the same issue. I have Ocusus runtime 1.3.1 and Virtual Desktop 1.0.1. Any ideas how to resolve this issue?

Virtual Desktop seems to work perfectly for everything except the 360 videos, for me. I've tried opening a local video, as well as pasting a youtube URL, both result in the same thing: The video starts "playing" (The background changes from nebula to black, and I see the thumb moving along the bottom of the screen), and I can hear the audio, but there is no video -- it just stays black.

I'm using a DK2 in Win10 with Runtime 1.3 -- any thoughts?

There is no subtitle support for the integrated video player at the moment.

bought VD 1.0.5 today on Steam. Using the Oculus Rift DK2 with the Runtime 1.5.0.240083 on Windows 10.

The Headset works with the Oculus Home but when i start the Virtual desktop App it says:

Virtual Desktop does not support you current aktive Headset. (tell me in German)

Any Advice?
