I'm an ex athlete in my 40s retired for almost 15 years now. I still train regularly and for me the best apps I've used are Thrill of the Fight and Fit XR. These two, if I strap on wearable weight, give me the best workout. Well I don't actually need the weights for thrill of the fight it's a workout all by it self. Any other suggestions?

I know a lot of people love Beatsaber. Underdogs might also be a decent option, but I haven't tried it.

I stumbled onto Fun Fit Five for free in the App Lab. It is a hit and duck app with different levels of intensity. You can choose blades, bats or gloves to hit targets coming at you like with BeatSaber or Supernatural - but it is FREE. You also duck - down or to the side walls coming at you.
The graphics are cartoony and there are not a lot of settings. The included music is also just so-so but those things don't matter that much to me.
I get a better workout than I did with Supernatural and you can't beat the price.

For heavy exercise, I recommend something like FitXR or C-Smash VRS. For something less draining, beat Saber is also an option.

Hi, @drulj2! Welcome to the community! It's good to see you here. If you're up for a fun workout, I highly recommend trying out Beat Saber. I've worked up a sweat playing it a couple of times. 😅 Also, give XRWorkout a try too. It's free in the store.

But FunFitFive is FREE. Last time I looked, Beat Saber costs $ (still?)
If the OP wants to pay $ it is worth it to look into Supernatural. Coaches and very cool real environments are nice but eventually I got tired of the app and the other stuff was not worth it so I let me subscription lapse.

If you're into Metal, I love playing Ragnarock. It's basically the Metal version of Beat Saber, but you can race against other people. It can be pretty fast-paced, and a lot of the options they have include power metal songs, so you really get into it. My favorite non-DLC songs would have to be Drunken Dwarves from Wind Rose, Hootforce from Gloryhammer, and Power Snake from Brothers of Metal.
